The House of Horrors
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein- is such a classic horror movie mixed with humor, comedy, sci-fi and is in the universal monster universe. Plus this has Lon Chaney Jr. as The Wolfman, Bela Lugosi as Dracula, Glenn Strange as Frankenstein and Vincent Price as the voice of the Invisible Man. OMG so many horror icons/legends within one movie. Love it.
The Plot: In the first of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello's horror vehicles for Universal Pictures, the inimitable comic duo star as railway baggage handlers in northern Florida. When a pair of crates belonging to a house of horrors museum are mishandled by Wilbur (Lou Costello), the museum's director, Mr. MacDougal (Frank Ferguson), demands that they deliver them personally so that they can be inspected for insurance purposes, but Lou's friend Chick (Bud Abbott) has grave suspicions.
Its funny, entertaining, thrilling, and overall excellent. If you havent seen it, than go and watch it.

Below The Surface
Underwater- is a highly entertaining sci-fi horror movie. Mixing sci-fi with horror with a underwater creature. The cast was really good, i liked Kristen Stewart, T.J. Miller, Vincent Cassel and John Gallagher Jr. The downfall was Jessica Henwick she was really annoying. He charcter was really annoying and wouldnt shut up. The plot/story was intresting, the sci-fi was good and the horror was just there/not really though.
The plot: Disaster strikes more than six miles below the ocean surface when water crashes through the walls of a drilling station. Led by their captain, the survivors realize that their only hope is to walk across the sea floor to reach the main part of the facility. But they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they come under attack from mysterious and deadly creatures that no one has ever seen.
Like i said a good movie.

A great looking and fun horror film that leans too heavily on jump scares
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark - the overall plot of this film is a fun one, and the nature of it revolving around short stories enables the movie to explore different creatures and dangers without having to worry too much about plot connection.
There are some really creepy shots throughout (The Pale Lady in the red corridors will definitely stick with me) but the scares end there. The movie relies on cheap jump scares a bit too much, with many scenes of uncomfortable silence before a SUDDEN SCARY THING! pops out at you. It becomes tiresome fairly quickly.
The designs of the creatures themselves are pretty good, and the darkness of most scenes masks obvious CGI effectively.
I'm fact, the films looks pretty good throughout.
As a horror film, it's pretty tame, but it's fun, and I would recommend a watch if horror is your bag.

I've reviewed a few musicals here and there, and always feel I need to make a comment about how I don't really like musicals in general... The Rocky Horror Picture Show is of course a huge tight wearing exception to this stubborn rule of thumb I have.
TRHPS is just a blast from start to finish. Richard O'brien's song writing is top notch - it's clever, catchy, cheesy when it needs to be, funny, and classy.
Pretty much every character is iconic, none more so than Tim Curry's Frank-N-Furter, easily the most sympathetic, enthralling, occasionally psychopathic mad transvestite scientist to ever grace a cinema screen - definitely in my top 10 movie characters of all time.
Beneath all of the absurdity is a solid narrative, that is equal parts weird and tragic, and manages to meld together B-Movie schlock, Universal Monsters vibes, dark comedy, rock n' roll, and cheesy horror, and does it all phenomenally well. It's a joy to watch all these years later.
Rocky Horror was ahead of its time in many ways, and is the ultimate cult movie. It's a damn masterpiece.

Characters – Alex joins her boyfriend on this weekend, she isn’t the biggest horror fan, but a couples weekend, is a couple weekends, she has a past which has seen her struggle through events in her life, which will make her fit the typical final girl for a slasher experience. Nathan is the boyfriend that was going on this weekend with his best friend who paid for everything, only to drop out, he has always been loyal toward Alex, whatever her struggles. Larry is a lone man that has been on this style of weekend before and enjoys meeting the new people that take part in the games. Marina is one half of a horror fan couple, she does fill the slutty figure of the cast.
Performances – Marcienne Dwyer in the leading role is strong through the film, we see her go through the range of emotions as her character becomes more complex as the film unfolds. When it comes to the rest of the cast they do hit their characters well and look like they fit into the horror genre.
Story – The story follows six people that entertain a horror theme weekend of fun that soon spirals out of control as one of them finds themselves alone and wondering if this is real or not. This is an interesting story to watch unfold, we are entering a world where horror films exists which is important for the way of surviving what is happening. We will be left to wonder if this is real or not which is just what we want. This is a simple enough story that will keep us guessing and waiting to see how the events unfold.
Horror – The horror in this film comes from knowing horror movies, which will see how the group look to survive the events of a horror film.
Settings – The film uses the settings that are known in horror, including the woods which is one of the easiest slasher locations in horror.
Special Effects – The film uses practical effects to achieve everything it wants to during the weekends events.
Scene of the Movie – The beach.
That Moment That Annoyed Me – The supporting members of the group feel too generic for the genre of horror.
Final Thoughts – This is a fun horror that really does try to push the limits of the audience by showing us just how people can become affected by a horror weekend event.
Overall: Enjoyable horror.

Plot twist
Just watched this movie and i like it horror verision of home alone never saw the plot twist coming olivia dejonge is fantastic as the babysitter who has to keep 12 year old luke safe from the intruders. Not much gore in this one thats okay thumbs up from me

This was sold to me by a friend as a horror/womans empowerment film. Its not about female empowerment at all, more of a 'how cults operate' film.
Really enjoyed it though. Watching it you were constantly tense waiting for the next awful thing to happen, that everyone in the movie just sort of normalised.
