**BOOK SYNOPSIS OF NOTHING SHORT OF WONDROUS (AMERICAN WONDERS COLLECTION #2)**
In 1886, the U.S. government gave control of Yellowstone, the country's first national park, to the cavalry to stop predation by poachers, hunters, and vandals. Mrs. Kate Tremaine is all for the change. The young widow and her late husband held the lease to operate one of the hotels in the park. She has raised her six-year-old son among God's wonders and knows every inch of the mountainous park like the back of her hand. It is her home, and she has vowed to protect it.

Lieutenant William Prescott needs someone of Kate's caliber more than he knows. Congress has appropriated funds for only one guide, who is required elsewhere in the park, and the cavalryman is having some trouble finding his way around much less tracking down the troublemakers. As Kate and her son help him, he doesn't dare give in to the tender feelings she raises in him. A tragic mistake eight years ago nearly derailed his career and made him question his own abilities. Not even Kate's encouragement or God's forgiveness can blot out the stain on his conscience.

This book continues with Sinta's tale - Jason is still in DC as far as she knows, Wade still wants to be with her, and she is still trying to leave Jason behind emotionally and find something more than brotherly love for Wade. Throw in the lizards, trying to find out information, surviving plus the general angst of living underground in conditions as best as can be made for weeks on end. Sinta's mum doesn't want her to become one of the 'hunters' but wants her to remain in the enclosure where she is safe. Sinta doesn't want that as she knows that she is good at what she can do.

Sinta has grown up a lot in the time gone by since the first book. She doesn't hesitate to put her hand up to go 'outside' to find other survivors although Wade has a few words to say about this. The action that continues in this book is gripping and full on - you never feel that anything isn't happening for a reason though which makes it wonderful to read.

I won't give any of the story away except to say that it had me holding my breath in places as I read as fast as I could to find out what the result was. An absolutely brilliant, breathtaking venture into Sinta's dystopian world. This is a five-star series and I can't wait for In Danger's Embrace, book 3, to be released hopefully in October.

Welcome back to Sophie’s San Francisco, where being in a serial killer’s sights may be new but being odd is still the norm.

There are a few things I really like about this series. First the main character Sophie is brilliant she is sassy and funny, second the different shifters and creatures is so varied I just love finding more with each book and the last thing is the writing it’s so easy so when you want a break from the hard stuff this is some relief. Although I enjoyed this book I didn’t like it as much as book one and it seemed a little rushed towards the end. But if you love a good fantasy book this is a good one.
