I honestly wish that I would have paid the money to see this film in the theaters. Some of the scenes were larger than life and deserved to be viewed that way. The cinematography was amazing. The storyline had a few glitches here and there, only somewhat following the real history of PT Barnum. I found myself singing along with songs that I couldn't even tell you how I already knew the words to. I wanted to watch it again the minute I'd finished it and that hasn't really happened to me in a long time. I fully recommend watching this. Even if you aren't typically a fan of musicals or circuses, you're likely to find something about this film that pulls at your heart strings.

I was very skeptical when I first started this book. Throughout the book it was a bit hard to follow and I often found myself needing to rewind (I listened to the audible version). If you don't pay close attention to what is going on it is extremely easy to get lost. That being said, I was thoroughly intrigued and even when I wasn't listening to the book, i was wondering what would happen to the characters next, what they would do next, and how the adventure was going to end. To me, that's the mark of a great book, you keep thinking about it even when you've put it down for the day. Reading all of the Wheel of Time books is going to be quite the journey, but so far, it's one I'm interested enough to continue on.

Brilliant for buyers, poor for sellers.
This app is one I use daily for buying. However, if you are selling I have found that:
1) People want something for nothing.. and I mean nothing.
2) Buyers can abuse ebays buyer protection policy
3) Ebay protects buyer over seller.
I would not recommend this platform for selling day to day items. I have sold on it for many years and have watched it change. Although I have excellent buyer feedback I still have to refund buyers who make false or innacurate claims about goods. It leaves you out of pocket and is generally a waste of your time.

I didn't know when I downloaded this that it was the second book in The de Vargas Family series, if I had I'd have gone out and gotten the first book, Indigo's story, and read it first as I'm sure it would have helped me understand this one a little more.
That being said, it wasn't that hard to understand the storyline but all the flower and chemical talk went over my head. I had no idea what was going on at those bits.
The romance was kinda sweet but at the same time I didn't really understand it. Why would you like the man who kidnapped you?
I also found the writing style a little too formal but considering it's set in the 19th Century I'm sure they would have spoken as formally as it was written but I wasn't a fan.

Well it is tough for me to review this book or even rate it. I'm still trying to figure out what happened in it...at times it seems like there is absolutely nothing happening & at others as if everything is happening at once. It was just downright confusing. Sometimes I was really into the plot & invested in the lives of Alden, Douglas, & Sutton. At others I found myself checking to see how many pages were left before I was done with the book! Of a the characters, I found Douglas the most intriguing. He seemed the most real & knowable of the 3 main characters. Yet the ending leaves you wondering how much of it was actually real & who was real. And what was up with awaiting a trial at the end?! The author is talented but the story was bogged down by her attempts to write long, twisting sentences. I doubt very much that I would read anything more by her.

I won this book on First Reads. The write up caught my attention so I entered, with very few expectations on winning a copy or for the book itself. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised!
This book was an easy read, but not one of those reads that is so easy you breeze through without paying attention to the plot. The book tells the story of newly divorced Barbara. In the divorce she lost custody of her 2 children & soon found herself living in a dive motel in the small town her "experson" had moved to her to. It goes through the story of Barb regaining her confidence, her children, & in the process herself.
The writing was poetically simple & often laugh out loud funny or tears streaming touching. I found myself rooting for Barb all the way through this book. I look forward to reading more from Leslie Daniels in the future!

It’s a horrible, horrible curse to have. *sigh* This might have been payback for having a good reading streak. (I swear, I tried my best to suffer through <a href="https://thenovelistics.blogspot.com/2017/11/27-hours-by-tristina-wright-arc-review.html">27 Hours</a> and this one, but it <em>DID NOT HAPPEN</em>.)
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><strong>Why You Should Skip Past <em>The Neverland Wars</em> and Never Look Back</strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: left;">Granted if you can deal with the things I found annoying, I won’t stop you, but I found so many issues in <em>The Neverland Wars</em> that I just couldn’t continue past the point I actually finished (which was 10% I think…).
Actually, props to you.
<h3><strong>Gwen is so unemotional</strong></h3>
She’s more unemotional than ME! And I’ve been told I’m very cold, but I’m secretly a soft and fuzzy bean who is sensitive and emotional. But Gwen… Gwen is <em>robotic</em> - she doesn’t care about makeup, clothes, school, math, etc. etc. You can’t be that impassive, can you? Or can you.
Honestly, about 5% and onward I wanted to throw a shit pillow at Gwen and ask DO YOU CARE ABOUT ANYTHING. WHAT IS WORTH YOUR TIME.
Also yes, I’m shouting into the void… because it’s what I would do to Gwen probably.
<h3><strong>Weird descriptions</strong></h3>
There is this one paragraph or two about hormones and tiny bugs and while it might be really accurate, I quote Elena: IT’S STRANGE. (You're likely to find this in a book excerpt somewhere.)
<h3><strong>“Gwen found herself wondering if skin-tight jeans and sex on the beach really were supposed to be the height of teenage ambition.”</strong></h3>
Honestly, this whole quote is an entire reason because first of all, teenagers are not all about sex. Second, sex isn’t necessarily done on a beach (and there’s all that sand…). Third, as a teenager, I preferred loose pants that were warm and comfy. Fourth, sex and skin-tight jeans are not the height of teenage ambition. In fact, this is extremely false.
<h3><strong>The amount of repetition</strong></h3>
I get it, Gwen doesn’t care about anything. She has no emotion. She doesn’t like makeup, she doesn’t like school (I think?), she doesn’t like anything! Big whoop. There was a certain point in the book that I started counting exactly how many times in how many ways Gwen was telling us how she didn’t care or how she found it unnecessary, etc. etc.
<h3><strong>Gwen just cared about one thing</strong></h3>
If Gwen ever showed signs of caring about something or someone, it was fantasizing over a crush. (And wait for it… he’s Mr. Most Popular Boy at School. Why am I not surprised?)
I wish I could have enjoyed <em>The Neverland Wars</em>, but that’s not happening. On the bright side, at least all of my reads of 2017 had some pretty covers.

Great suspense.
This is a good book and I would recommend it to mystery/suspense fans. However, I found the main character, Rachel annoying. She whines often and many times is just off the rail. But, I like the writing and believe this is done intentionally. Rachel hates herself, she is often angry with herself, she is hitting rock bottom, and why would the reader not feel the same way in light of a first person narrative. The writing makes you feel for Rachel, your embarrassed for her, confused, angry, upset, you pity her, in a way you come to understand her, and it adds to the narrative of the novel. You think you have it figured out (and you might the clues are there), but at times your not sure (Rachel is an unreliable narrator). This book is worth a read.

When I first started this book I was slightly dubious as to whether I would be able to finish it or not.
I found the writing style quite difficult at first, you can tell the author has previously written books of poetry.
After a few chapters though I was swept into the story, I desperately wanted to find out what happened to Rebecca west and the others. Ultimately it is a bitter sweet ending, but that was probably obvious from the start given the history of the witch trials. I congratulate the author on giving the characters such depth and bringing them back to life for their stories to be told again. #akblakemore

I have to admit, I was one of the few people who didn't really know anything about the Golden State Killer. I picked this book up after he was caught because I wanted to learn more and because it is the first book in a new online book club that I joined. I have always found serial killers interesting so I was excited to sit down and listen to this book. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I never knew Michelle McNamara's writing style or detective skills so I prepared myself to be disappointed. That disappointment never came.
This book was phenomenal. The research that Michelle & her editors put into this was simply impressive. I was constantly in awe while reading this book. This is probably one of the top true crime novel that I have read. Michelle has a way to pull you into the story and leave you wanting to continue on her hunt (which thankfully we don't have to do now that he is caught).
All in all, this is a great true crime which I will recommend to everyone!
