Action overdone but otherwise good
I like the idea but was surprised at how short the movie is considering how much it packs in. I definitely think it could be done better. There was a lot of action and some of it was pretty cheap stuff. A try hard movie that is looking to promote feminist movement but not done great. Good action movie overall

This book was great - I love a good mental health illness book! I think that aspect of the book was interesting to read and the description toward the mid-end there was amazing in the description. I think the aspect of the, lets track down this missing person was a bit of a wildcard in the book - cool concept but very random. And was not a very "all there" part of the book.

I liked where the title of the book came in too, I was like, why the heck is this book called that? ohk now I get it hah. Overall a great read, but taking a 1 star away for the overall cohesiveness of the concept working together, and it was a bit slow in a few places especially the beginning, but then I powered through the last 186 pages pretty quickly!

There were things about this movie that I loved and things that I wasn't too fond of.
I love Jason Stratham. He is great in anything and I think he was perfect for this movie.
I thought the little girl's character was really needless. She was basically put there to push the romantic part of the story forward and it seemed pointless.
I also am not a fan of movies that through in false endings. There is a point where they make it seems like the movie is over and then of course its not. I would rather have constant action than feeling like the movie is over and then getting pulled back into the action again.
The shark looked incredibly realistic. The action was good and the movie kept my attention throughout the entire storyline. I would watch this movie again and would recommend it to others.

The first season was really great, I enjoyed the storyline and characters, plus I do enjoy a good comic book adaptation. The second season was good, I enjoyed the new setting and loved the music. Some funny parts and deals with a few hard topics. However, it quickly goes downhill, the story is almost the same as the first season. We got so bored, we only really watched it because there was nothing else to do (lockdown).

The ending is silly, far too clean and sudden new powers save the day. Very melodramatic, over the top.

Way too religious (0 more)
Not for me
A) I don't believe in God, so the idea behind the book seemed to me rather ridiculous.
B) Not enough action. Call me mean, but for me a book needs some sort of hook, and there was none.
I found it really, really boring.

When I first watched this a lot of peoole were talking about it. There seemed to be a lot of hype. I really like Sandra Bullock and did enjoy her acting in this. The story was quite simple really and I loved the suspense throughout. I found that the ending was quite rushed and they could have done more with many of the characters/story line.

I really enjoyed reading this book and practically read it in one shot. Libby was a great character; I related to her (to a certain extent) and thought she was fairly realistic. However, there were a couple of things that bothered me: did the author have to make Ed a complete bore? I don't think it's bad to have two decent love interests. Second, did Nick have an upper-class raising or not? Lastly, the ending was too abrupt, I would have like there to have been a chapter or epilogue more; seemed to me that there were a few loose ends. Otherwise, I found it to be an easy, fast, and fun read. Jane Green's books haven't disappointed me yet.

4/5 - definitely not as awesome as book 1 but still just as good, there was a few lulls in action therefore that's why it got a 4/5 - i remember book 1 being non-stop action for me and I missed that in this book. Not to say there was not a lot of action - it was a LOT of action, but there was a few chapters of things that were, like I've read, very politically inclined - it is kind of the whole point of the book though so alas can I truly be mad at it??

there was quite a whirlwind of characters too - not new/special ones but ... I love this one, no I HATE them, oh I LOVE them again, no WAIT I hate them.. I mean, can you play with my emotions anymore?!?! Oh my gosh that was a lot! A wringer, a long one, but a good one.

The ending - as always in a series, makes me just scream for more, and now I have to wait an age for the next book, my life is over *cries*

I liked this to start with--the first 40% or so--but then I started to lose interest. I can't put my finger on what it was but I was determined to carry on and figure out who "hoodie" was and why Sin seemed a little odd.

It rumbled along at a quite sedate pace for awhile, nothing too much happening apart from relationship issues. I was interested in a Dawn/Victor romance and we had a little of that but I thought there was too much Michael for my liking and I wasn't too fond of him for a time.

At about the 85% mark, I realised something and I was pleasantly surprised and then another something happened at the 90% mark that had me getting interested in the story again.

But then that ending! How could it just end like that?! I'm sure that Victor will stop, though, after all she is the only sunshine he will ever see.

My edition contained a preview of the next book in the trilogy but I skipped it as I'm not entirely convinced that I liked it enough to continue the series.

2.5 stars rounded up.

I found this book quite difficult to rate as I was very much in a love/hate relationship with it, some bits were great and I was sucked into the story whilst on the edge of my seat but then on the other hand some parts had me rolling my eyes. This book is split into two parts but I can't say that I enjoyed one part more than the other...both kind of just went on a bit too much. This book could have been so much shorter without losing anything, there was just too much yapping on about nothing, extended sentences with no meaning, I just wanted everyone to get to the point they were making.
I like to be scared by horror stories, I like to be given goose-bumps but unfortunately I just didn't feel it. There was, however, a nice bit of gore that kept me going and I did like most of the characters. It was an interesting story, original but unfortunately I found it a bit dull in places.
I'm not sure if others would agree with me, maybe I'm being too sensitive but I did find the book to be pretty sexist. Women, as a whole, were just demeaned which left me feeling pretty uncomfortable. The language towards females was pretty grim and the unpleasantness of the male characters was described as feminine. Each wife was described as horrible, mean, selfish, vile and was to be thrown away with the trash and the main character's girlfriend was mentioned about three times. She meant a lot to him but all that we were told was that she had a sexy overbite and he wanted to bed her. For a novel this big and in depth I expected to be able to get to know the characters more but it left me wanting.
I can't say I would really recommend it to be honest, I think my expectations were too high as I was very much looking forward to reading this one...nevermind.
