"And my kids and I love this book. It’s not easy for an illustrated picture book to hit that sweet spot, where it is fun for the both the kids and the parents to read, but this this one does it. Charming and silly, this ridiculous book is a joy."

"This book was my late sister Thomasina’s favorite as a child, though it is close to my heart for other than sentimental reasons, too. Within its prettily illustrated story about a fussy eater, it is understanding and touching about the fears and joys of food, and of childhood. So enduringly touching."

Body positivity has reached new heights lately, but Ashley Graham has been fighting to be seen as a plus size model for years. Her journey from Nebraska to Sports Illustrated cover is bumpy, relatable, and honest. It's not the best memoir I've ever read, but Ashley Graham is inspiring and positive. It's a good read.

"A succinct and comprehensive guide for living made up of irreducible bite-size wisdoms, exquisitely illustrated. From ‘Live the seasons’ through ‘Lose time in chatting’ and ‘Don’t be afraid to get wet,’ to the unassailable ‘Go from time to time to Scotland,’ there can be no better pocket of counsel for any of us at any age."

"This book has fascinated me since I was a child. I’m always dipping into it and finding new things. Some of his Anglocentric conclusions date horribly, but the material gathered gives a magical insight into the people that have populated our planet and the rituals we observe. The illustrated edition was a later discovery and it’s an ethnographic treat."

Brightly coloured, well illustrated and action-filled this Manga title is definitely par for the course for this genre of material. A solid introduction which sets up the characters for the subsequent episodes. I would say to give this one a read if you enjoy, keep going, if not, try the next one. One of them is sure to fit your needs.

"Originally issued as Reign of Terror, Anthony Mann’s Classics-Illustrated-meets-film-noir treatment of the French revolution is one of the most striking low budget period pieces to come from Hollywood, abetted by graphic b/w imagery from the great d.p. John Alton and striking production design from the always reliable William Cameron Menzies. Plus it’s witty moves like lightning."

I don't usually read children's books but this one was written by friends of a good friend of mine. And who wouldn't want to read a beautifully illustrated book about a mouse detective that is hunting for lost notes written by Mozart? Interview with the vampire Claudia’s Story!
Graphic Novel
An Adaptation by Ashley Marie Witter of the book by Anne Rice
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A richly-illustrated adaptation of Anne Rice's INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, told through the eyes of the vampire Claudia, who was just a little girl when she was turned by the vampire Lestat. Though she spends many years of happiness with her two vampire fathers, she gradually grows discontent with their insistence upon treating her like a little girl, even though she has lived as long as any mortal man...and her lust to kill is certainly no less than theirs...

This was such a beautiful graphic novel! Interview with the vampire is one of my favourite books so to see this side of Claudia story so beautifully illustrated was just special. Stunning book.

Harsh truth
Beautifully illustrated by Alice Tait, Pam Ayres' poem about The Last Hedgehog is a clever set of verses about the demise of the hedgehog population. Although the rhyme makes readers want to laugh, it highlights the dangers to hedgehogs caused by contemporary society. With this short book, Ayres hopes to open the eyes of the ignorant and change people's attitudes to nature.
