I'm sorry I couldn't love it!
Independent reviewer for BookSirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.

My review of this book will be short, and I'm sorry about that!

I . . . struggled . . . I think is the best word.. . .with this book. I've no idea why, because I loved Ms Roberts Hawks books, and I love pretty much anything with dragons, so I can only assume it was a me thing, rather than a book thing.

I liked that Luka and Izabel both had a say, as did their dragon half. I really liked that way the plot twisted, and the threat came from an unexpected source.

I loved the way that others in the group were given enough hints for their books (or at least that was the way my mind went!)

It's steamy and full of danger, intrigue, and yes, dragons. Even if Luka was at odds with his for most of the book, but the boy does redeem himself!

I enjoyed it, I finished it, and I will try to follow what and who comes next, because while Izabel and Luka get a HEA, there is much unfinished.

3 very VERY good stars (again, a ME thing!)

I was hesitant at first with this being the first reboot with Robert Pattinson as Batman. But I was pleasantly surprised, he played a darker and more brooding version of Batman than previous actors. While I loved the Christopher Nolan trilogy, this may be up there with them.
Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman was a good interpretation and as independent as you would want her to be. Also I knew that Colin Farrell was playing Penguin, but if I hadn’t have already known, I definitely wouldn’t have guessed!
The Riddler was much more insane than I could ever have imagined, and I think Paul Dano played him perfectly. I enjoyed watching his riddles unfold and him thinking his relationship with Batman was so much more than it was.
I loved how they changed well know places in Liverpool into the backdrop of Gotham, and once they were done with the editing if you weren’t as familiar with them you probably would have thought they were made for Gotham.
The only thing that stopped me from giving this 10/10 was the length of the film, it was extremely long but it did keep my attention for the entirety. I will definitely be recommending this to anyone!

A friend of mine recommended this book to me via GoodReads and as I occasionally read Historical Fiction, I thought I'd give it a go, especially whilst it is still at the promotional price on Amazon. I'm very glad that I did. Although this is Book 2 in the Secrets of the Zodiac series, you don't have to have read the first one (although I will be now, plus any others I can get!).

The story is very well-written with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing throughout. I got the mole wrong but I'm so very glad that I did. I loved how it was written and all fell into place. This book swept me away to the Regency era where life for a woman, let alone a lady, was so very different, with different rules and regulations that she was supposed to follow. Put an independent woman in the mix who knows how to look after herself, along with a male who thinks that she isn't capable, and you're in for an explosive combination which makes for a terrific read.

I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the lookout for more in this series. Definitely recommended to all History Fiction fans out there.
