LITTLE TREASURE HE HIDES is the first book in the Little Paws Haven series, and I want to return there now!
I will say, Gabai got off to a very poor start. I didn't like how he acted when he first saw his mate; nope, not at all. However, luckily for me and for Asher, he realised what a pillock he'd been and changed how he treated Asher. After that, I soon warmed up to the big ole teddy bear who will not hesitate to protect his mate - even if Asher is more than capable of looking after himself. With his backstory, it shows how much he appreciates the care and affection. Yes, he can take care of himself, but he can relax and let Gabai do it, knowing he has his best interests at heart.
There wasn't a part of this story I didn't like (apart from what I've already said). I loved how Gabai's side of the story - with the attacks at his club - was handled. And Asher's just broke my heart before rebuilding it piece by piece.
I have just one question for the two amazing authors though - please, please, PLEASE tell me Rocco gets his story. I want to give him a hug!!!!
Full of amazing characters, action, and a brilliant storyline, this is highly recommended by me. Another jewel in the crown!

I will say, Gabai got off to a very poor start. I didn't like how he acted when he first saw his mate; nope, not at all. I Wish My Teacher Knew by Kyle Schwartz is a must read for all teachers. The book is a set of essays based from student responses to the question "I wish my teacher knew___________." The teacher asked her questions the above question and the information she gathered from the assignment shocked her but helped to gain necessary information from her students about them.
The book begins by explaining the project that the teacher/author created in order to get to know her students better. The author describes what students said that the teacher needed to know in how to properly teach/engage the students.
Beyond knowing how to effectively teach students a teacher needs to be aware of issues that students may be experiences. The book states that it is important to know how to deal with these issues because if the issue of death, homelessness, family issues are causing issues for a student it will be difficult for a student to focus on their studies. These issues are just as important at learning in the classroom. As a teacher I found this very true. In addition to knowing how to effectively engage student based on their learning styles, the book also states that as a teacher it is important to know the students hobbies/ interests.
The book is thoroughly researched which is valuable to any person who is going into the field of teaching or has been in the field for many years. As a 2nd year teacher I found the book very interesting. I plan to do this as a first activity with my students to learn about them. The activity is a way to get to know your students without pre-judging their personalities. It is a stress free way for students to share important information.

I am a little addicted
I have been playing Clash of Clans for over five years now, and the game still interests me and keeps me playing. When it comes to app based games, they tend to have a self life of around three to six months for me, so Supercell have done well to keep me hooked.
The game allows you to connect with other players from around the world (or a more localised setting if you choose), by joining clans or through global. I personally find global chat a little frustrating, as the talk is immature and does not really aid game play. Through joining a clan, I have been able to connect with players from around the world (and in one case just up the road), and have now joined with them in other strategy games as well as on social networking. The social element of the game keeps us playing almost as much as the game play itself.
I admit in the early days of playing the game, I purchased gem packs to speed up my progress, but since the makers of clash freely give out gems (through clan games and removal of stones and bushes, as well as completed challenges through your profile), I have found that I can maintain a healthy amount of gems for purchasing spells without having to spend money.
Over the years, there have been changes to the game, however Supercell are constantly thinking forward into how to improve the quality of the game for their players. Just as clan wars started to get tiresome, clan games and shortly after clan leagues has brought back a renewed enthusiasm for the game. I am looking forward to seeing what comes in the future for the game.

"The first in a series of books about the Zulu War, this is also the first fictional book that Saul David has written. While he may be a good historian (never having read his works, I don't know), I have to say: I'm not so sure about his ability to write good fiction.
Not that there's anything wrong with his knowledge of the battle(s) of Islandwhana and Rorke's Drift (there isn't, and I'm sure he knows more about it than me) - that part of the book isn't actually too bad - rather, that he seemed to be too clumsy in how he manoeuvred his characters into position to be involved in those battles. I've never been too fond of the use of the amazing coincidence device! I also wasn't keen on the fact that the characters seemed to feel the need to explain to each other things that they should already know, even if the reader doesn't. You know, like one military officer describing to another how to perform a fighting retreat by ranks (one rank firing while the other covers them)?
There's two main love interests in the book, but only one of them seems fully realised or in place properly: the other added almost as an afterthought, and the conclusion of that one seems pretty weak.
Like another reviewer, I'd have to say that while this certainly wasn't the worse book I'v ever read, it's a long way from being the best, or even the best 'new' book I've read this year (that would have to be Angus Donald's "Outlaw"). Quite glad that I got it as part of a 1/2 price offer: would be less impressed if I'd had to pay full price for it!"
