Wow this was a thrilling and edgy ride to be a part of. Amazing writing and characters. There is nightmares, murder, love interests, romance (and a sexy romance at that), intrique and so much more in this story. The writing makes me feel as if I was a part of this story with the characters. I felt as if I was in their lives and seeing it as it was happening. I love when a writer makes me feel like that. Linda did an amazing job with this first story in this series and I can't wait to see what happens next

"Roxane Gay is one of the funniest and most insightful authors, and her book of essays is essential reading because I think most women can relate to her varied interests, and I am no exception. Gay, an academic and prolific author, writes about watching certain reality shows but also recognizing how damaging they can be. She writes about feminism in a way that is deeply authentic and realistic. Also, as someone who has had to work her way up this business for years, I really appreciate that she is an overnight success twenty years in the making"

The Milagro Beanfield War (1988)
The Milagro Beanfield War (1988)
1988 | Comedy, Drama

"This was Robert Redford‘s follow up to Ordinary People. It’s just about a small South-Western town that is being taken over by moneyed interests. There’s this beautiful scene in the beginning where this obnoxious pig comes and wakes everybody up in the village out of bed, and everybody is like “Ergh, get away from me you pig.” But actually the pig is a force of great good; he’s just rousing everybody for the morning. There’s a certain poetry and stillness to the picture, and a magic that seems to emanate from the land and it casts a delicate spell."
