These Loaves of Bread Aren’t Deadly to Your Waistline. They’re Just Deadly
Three cozy mystery authors reunite to again present St. Patrick themed novellas with their characters. Up first, Carlene O’Connor revisits her Home to Ireland characters as Tara gets involved when her aunt’s rival dies from Irish soda bread. Next, Peggy Ehrhart presents a story with her Knits and Nibbles characters when a judge in a contest baking dies after sampling the first loaf of bread. Finally, Liz Ireland takes Mrs. Claus and three of the elves from Santaland to Oregon when April goes to investigate a leak in her inn only to get involved in some shady things going on with her caretaker.
All three stories are entertaining. I read this anthology for the Mrs. Claus story, but I felt right at home with the characters from the first two as well, so if you haven’t met any of them yet, you can easily use this to sample the authors. Given that these are novellas, I felt the authors all did a good job of bringing the characters to life, although I did feel the pacing could have been stronger. Still, I enjoyed all the stories and the twists we did get. I even laughed at that final story multiple times. If you pick up this book now or wait until March to read it, you’ll find yourself enjoying it.

ACCIDENTALLY MARRYING THE PROFESSOR is part of the multi-author Accidentally Marrying series. This one takes place at an archaeological dig in Ireland, where a team are looking for the remains of a Druid settlement. Norah is a twenty-two-year-old student, and Rowan is the forty-five-year-old Professor. Both of them have feelings for each other, but deny them, refusing to admit to anything out loud. But when the Professor finds an altar and needs Norah's help, they get more than they bargained for, but not more than they hoped.
Told from both their perspectives, you get a lot of story within a few pages. I loved seeing both sides, and the not so much miscommunication, but lack of it. Well, that and thinking that rules are not meant to be broken! Age is just a number, after all.
I have to say, Chapter 3 is my favourite chapter of them all!
Wonderfully hot and steamy, with plenty of love and romance thrown in - not bad when you consider they're digging a pit in the middle of an Irish forest! A great book to enjoy on your coffee break, and absolutely recommended by me.

Told from both their perspectives, you get a lot of story within a few pages. I loved seeing both sides, and the not so much miscommunication, but lack of it. Well, that and thinking that rules are not meant to be broken! Age is just a number, after all.
I have to say, Chapter 3 is my favourite chapter of them all!
Wonderfully hot and steamy, with plenty of love and romance thrown in - not bad when you consider they're digging a pit in the middle of an Irish forest! A great book to enjoy on your coffee break, and absolutely recommended by me.

Can Jessica Answer the Killer Question Correctly?
When Jessica, Seth, Mort, and Mort’s wife, Maureen, take part in a trivia contest at the grand opening of an Irish themed pub in Cabot Cove, they never expect to win, much less that the prize will be a trip to Los Angeles to be contestants on Trivia Pub Live, a new live trivia game show. However, things take a deadly turn when one of the crew is found dead after the first day of tapping. Will the team be able to find a killer and stay in the competition?
My favorite episodes of the show were always the ones in Cabot Cove, but getting to have Seth and Mort on this trip was the next best thing. Plus, I recognized the niece we were visiting, which made it fun. The pacing was a little slow at the beginning between the set up and introducing a couple of sub-plots, but once the mystery kicked into gear, it was steady the rest of the way, with plenty of red herrings and clues before we reached the logical climax. And I really liked how the book ended. I kept the many suspects straight, although some of the lesser ones faded a bit into the background because they didn’t have that much page time. I also enjoyed the tour of mystery locations in Los Angeles. Overall, this is a fun addition to the long running tie-in series.

I don’t know where to begin I couldn’t put it down. It deals with a very hard sensitive issue and in my opinion was so well done. It hit so many triggers and buttons but not once did I find it too much to handle or insensitive. It gives in a way 3 different accounts of abuse and survival of women who have gone through and still are suffering. So heartbreaking to read and gives a little hope!
