This book was wonderful. It is written in such detail that you can just imagine being there. The characters are real and relatable. Christine and Isaac face so much hardship. Between the stations they hold to the religions they follow, they face such trouble in being together. The determination these two show is inspiring. Christine is followed more than Isaac, and her story is inspiring. The War takes this story to new light. I thought this was going to be a book about romance in hard times. While it was that, it was also a book of survival and hope in in a country ravaged by war. It was a new view on the horrors that the Germans and the Jews faced. Bombings, death, persecution, love, survival, and hope for a better future are all part of this story. This story was truly a marvelous read about a horrible time. This story provides so much emotion that at times I was so happy while others just broke my heart and brought me to tears. This certainly was an emotional read, but that just makes this an even better story. This was a story filled with love, loss, hope, and a world war that changes the lives of so many.
This is the second book I have read by this author and each book is amazing in detail and written in such a way that you can't help but be sucked into the story. I am so glad I was able to review this story for such a talented author.

Also, I'm really tired of Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique. Can we please get some clothing for Mystique? I find it really strange that she has clothing in comics but close to none in the movies.

And what a story it is!!! I really enjoyed Jesse and Isaac, I did. But these two, wow! I loved their story. It made me smile, it made me laugh, and it also made me cry. I NEED their happy ending! Part of what I loved though, was seeing Jesse and Isaac with the twins, through Austin's eyes, and seeing how he felt about his past.
This is an incredibly well-written story, that has an open ending designed to leave you hanging on for the next book, which I need, like yesterday! The characters are all amazing, with their own interests and foibles to make them more 'human'. I loved how Charlie bakes when he's stressed! And I do so love a flapjack.
This really is a fantastic addition to the series, and I can't wait for more. It was brilliant seeing Jesse and Isaac again, but now I need to know Austin and Charlie get their HEA!
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Isaac Addy really isn’t coping with the death of his wife. You’ll stand with him on the bridge as he contemplates throwing himself off as he can’t go on without her, and then he hears a strange noise coming from the woodland below and goes to investigate.
I adored this beautiful, heartfelt, crazy book. I also can’t see how I can tell you ANYTHING at all about it without dropping huge spoilers and making it sound ridiculous. And this is most certainly NOT a ridiculous book. I swung between utter heartbreak (not good on a dog walk) and laughing (also not great, but people always smile back!)
It’s just a perfect book.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Johnny Flynn, who was such a good choice. I’ve heard of him before, and have listened to his music for years (I’ve never seen him act though, and I’m thinking I should!). He has such a gentle voice, absolutely suited to a novel with the themes of love and loss.
So read it, listen to it - but just do one or the other. You won’t regret it. Just keep the tissues handy.
