I didn't like this book. It wasn't what I expected at all. At first I enjoyed it but then relealised it was not the sort of the book I thought it was.
I thought it was the type of book I would normally read but it was not. Even though it was not my normal type of book I stuck with it but really didn't like it.
I think this was down to the genre but also I didn't feel anything reading it. I wasn't bothered about continuing although I did.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.

I've seen some pretty tough reviews for this movie. However, I thought it was funny.

It was predictable. It wasn't earth shattering in any way. It didn't redefine a genre. But it WAS funny for the sake of being funny. Adam Driver and Bill Murray killed it (get it? get it?) as country bumpkin deputy's who are faced with a zombie intrusion. Satire throughout was quite funny.

I wouldn't go into this movie expecting it to change my views on anything. Just go into it expecting to have a few laughs for an hour and a half and you'll enjoy yourself. Improper expectations are the birth of terrible reviews.

I liked it, it was a little odd, but it was quite good all the same. I do think that it ended really weirdly. Also Orwell has a love of the word Comrade doesn't he?

Brilliant film
What an incredible movie. Extremely well made and with a lot of good story behind it. It was a hard and stressful movie to watch. But it was well worth it. Brilliant storytelling.

I usually enjoy this show when it is on, it often makes me laugh, when that is intended, but I don't miss it when I am not watching it.

Got this through a first-reads giveaway, and was surprised as it didn't read how I expected it to. The twists and turns made it a pretty interesting read and I liked how it ended.

"I came to it because I was very like, "I'm gay but I do not like Barbra Streisand. I don't own a Barbra Streisand album", then I went to an Oxfam gig - and it was Hot Chip actually - at their really good store in Dalston. Anyway I was a bit drunk afterwards and picked it up and thought: "That will be good for a laugh." I took it home and it didn't stop being played for about two years. It was the record that, whenever I came back with friends, would be put on, and I think I won a few people over to it. And because I bought it on vinyl second-hand, it would always have this one track where it skips and I'd always have to run and change the record. Then I downloaded it when I bought it on CD and now it doesn't skip, I really hate it!"

"I always regretted that the Spiders didn't do that one as a single, Bowie and the Spiders. Because when he had written it, we did hear it and we did a version of it just to try it out, and you could hear that there was a real potential for it to be a big hit single. And we didn't treat it like that, we just treated it as another song we needed to get a version down on record. Then he gave it to Mott The Hoople and it went absolutely huge! It turned out to be kind of like an anthem of the 1970s, really. An amazing song, another one of my favorites. It was one of those songs you hear, and you just know immediately: that's a hit. Some you might hear and think it could be a hit if it was treated right, or it could be a minor hit, but with that one it was: no, this is a major hit. He wrote it for Mott The Hoople, really, they were on the edge of splitting up and it wasn't going well, and they needed to be pulled out of it with a hit – so David, as he did, just went: 'Okay, I'll write one.'"
