A thousand times better than Private London, much more well done. One of the best of the Private International branch stories, in my opinion. The appearance of Jack Morgan gives the story more layers, and helps tremendously.

Private, the world's most renowned investigation firm, has been commissioned to provide security for the 2012 Olympic games in London. Its agents are the smartest, fastest, and most technologically advanced in the world, and 400 of them have been transferred to London to protect over 10,000 competitors who represent more than 200 countries.

The opening ceremony is still hours away ...

It was ok!
I thought I would genuinely enjoy this being in London and the Olympic games but I really really struggled. It was just ok I was a bit fed up and struggled through it. Big bonus was having Jack in London but nowhere near enough of him.
I will still continue with the series.

(3.5/5) This biographical, historical, women’s fiction novel is about the woman who loved the prolific Jack London, Charmian. Overshadowed by her famous husband, with her debut novel “The Secret Life of Mrs. London,” Rebecca Rosenberg brings her front and center. Take a look at my review of this novel here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2019/06/27/an-almost-famous-woman/

Battling with insomnia, and his addictions to Laudanum and the Opium dens of London, Dr Bond, (a) Police Surgeon, is assigned to help identify (the) mutilated female corpses'-inspired by true events-The Thames Torso Murders-found in the gaslit Victorian era of London.

Jack the Ripper is the accused but Dr Bond believes the eerie deaths are the works of somebody, or something else and sets out to find whoever, or whatever, it is.

Based on true events, Sarah Pinborough has added a supernatural ending.

Amanda Harvey Purse what can I say amazing I loved this book and I'm not just saying that.

The story line jumps between the years 1888 and 1889 the place London your hosts for this intriguing murder mystery are Mary Kelly the fifth Jack the Ripper victim and Thomas Dunn a writer and I'm not telling you any more because you really should read this book. There is so much I could tell but won't all you need to know is that Amanda has mixed alot facts relating to the Jack the Ripper case amongst fiction to create a great story.

'Gotham by Gaslight' or (basically) steam-punk Batman.

Victorian-set stories, that re-imagines the Bat in Victorian times, with the first (of the 2) in this seeing Bruce Wayne framed for killings carried out by Jack the Ripper. Yes, that Jack the Ripper, who has appeared in Gotham city following his killing spree in London.

The second - not as good - story sees Bruce Wayne struggling to decide whether to take up the mantle of the Bat again when Gotham City's World fair is attacked, by the 'Master of the Future'.

I'd recommend the first; the second is so-so.

Movie Favorite

"It is hard to believe that this film about a nunnery in the Himalayas was filmed entirely at Pinewood Studios outside London. We are used now to entirely digital sets, but Alfred Junge’s designs and Jack Cardiff’s wonderful lighting and camera work are dazzling, the illusions spectacular. Add to this a gripping story beautifully acted and directed, despair, passion, and madness; you can’t lose."

Johnny The Ripper
From Hell- its mysterious, thrilling, horrorfying, terrorfying and above all a good movie, thats about Jack The Ripper. And plus Johhny Depp is in it and his is a inspector so thats a plus.

The plot: Inspector Fred Abberline is determined to track down Jack the Ripper in Victorian east London. As well as his Sergeant Peter Godley, Abberline is helped on the case by visions he has while high on opium, and adding urgency to his investigations is `unfortunate' Mary Kelly, a potential Ripper victim with whom the Inspector is falling in love.

Its a really good movie, highly reccordmend watching it.

Breathless (Scarlet Suffragette book 2)
By Nicola Claire
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nicola Claire's captivating new Gothic romance series continues with a dark and sinister London City at the end of the nineteenth century - brightened by a fearless and talented heroine and a loyal and secretive police inspector...

Determined doctor? Interfering busybody? Fearless fighter?

The London of Anna Cassidy's memories is not the London she faces today. Having proved her worth as a physician, Dr Cassidy finds herself pitted against the stolid attitude of a male-dominated society.

But it's not only society she has to contend with.

A criminal mastermind has set themselves up in London, England; chosen the dirty streets of Whitechapel and Lambeth as their stage. Competing against a devious and cunning opponent sets Anna and her closest friends off on a dire adventure, which could culminate in a loss so great Anna may never recover again.

Steadfast police inspector? Loyal guardian? Caring lover?

Anna, however, is not alone. Or, at least, she won't be once Inspector Kelly finds her. Facing the ghosts of his past, Andrew Kelly rushes to face Anna's enemies and protect the woman he loves.

But Anna is not unable to defend herself.

Proving she needs him is a task Inspector Kelly would gladly undertake. But the city of Andrew's birth is more in the grip of evil machinations than it has ever been, bringing to mind memories of a dark London, ripped to within an inch of its life by a devil known to most simply as Jack.

Andrew knows otherwise. For his secrets are unravelling and within their shadowed corners lies a murderer, a poisoner, and a villain so deceitful that nothing is what it appears to be.

A gritty, twisted, and authentic Victorian romantic suspense, sure to rip you apart... just like old Jack.

This was so good I love the era and the references to Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes. It has fabulous characters both good and bad. The story kept you wanting to read more. I’m not one for huge relationship storylines but this I loved. Highly recommended if you like murder mystery set in a gothic Victorian era.
