Soooo....yeah
I have been a Kevin James fan since the day that I first saw him. I think he's very funny in both his stand up and in his feature films. I've heard through the years murmurs that he was a hack actor and all the other tropes you hear from people who just want to complain in life. Let me tell you something, Kevin James is NOT a hack actor.

When I saw previews for this movie some time ago I was super intrigued as it looked like a far cry from what I'm used to seeing Kevin James star in. Months later when the movie popped into my newly available section in my digital library I thought it was time to give it a go and see what what really going on.

This movie is as far from a "normal" Kevin James role as you can possibly get. Relatively predictable. But wicked unexpected. Joel McHale (whom I've actually been moderately impressed with lately in smaller, more serious roles) also stars in what I can only describe as a thriller on steroids. It kind of reminds me of the movie Hanna if Hanna hadn't been a trained killer and was just doing things based on sheer anger and hatred.

Be warned, there are parts of this movie that are incredibly graphic. But all in all it's wild ride down the rabbit hole.

I absolutely love James Spader voicing Ultron. I wish they would bring him back somehow in another film. He does a great performance and I thought it would be startling as Spader has a very distinct voice. However, he takes the role and makes it his own.

The Bad: the beats are the same as the first Avengers film. There was really nothing new. Characters are introduced to be killed off with no real meaning to their death. Great lines and scenes but not consistent enough to give it a 10/10

The Verdict (1982)
The Verdict (1982)
1982 | Drama

"Once again, another movie that I don’t think people could watch these days because they have to sit too long and listen to people talk. This is a brilliant movie, and Paul Newman, out of everything he ever did, this was his greatest performance. When he got the Academy Award for The Color of Money, I think it was a make-up job [by the Academy]. Jack Warden was terrific in it, as well as James Mason. I hated [James Mason] in that movie more than any character I’ve ever hated as the defense attorney for the Catholic Church. He was really mean–cold, really. All the actors are terrific, too."

"Number one is Giant. Starting off with the incomprable James Dean. I love that movie. I love how epic it is in scope. I love that it’s about a woman who is coming into her own and thinks she’s going into one situation and, of course, has to dominate and overcome. For me, for my money, if I had to choose between Giant and Gone with the Wind, I’d go Giant every time."

this was a good read, I found it a bit slow in the middle but other than that it was good. the story line and characters were well written and the ending fantastic. I loved how each chapter was a different character it made the story flow, I will be defiantly reading more by this author

Rolling Stone's 454th greatest album of all time (2020)
I had heard of this album through Elis James' podcast as he is a big fan. I was expecting it to be much more MC5-style garage rock, so was surprised at how experimental and noisy it was. While a little disappointed (based on my own overbuilt expectations), I will give it another listen later.

"He wrote perfect sentences, too, but very indirect, very complicated. Sentences with sinkholes. You could drown in them. I wouldn’t dare to write one. I’m not even sure I’d dare to read James again. I loved those novels so much that I was paralyzed by them for a long time. All those possibilities. All that perfectly reconciled style. It made me afraid to put words down."

I really enjoyed this!

The fact that it just kinda ended at the 95% mark, leaving me needing to know what happens at the party mentioned, may have affected my rating. I cant believe it just ended like that! I need to know what happens between them!

I loved James and Annabelle as a couple and I need to know that they get a HEA or at least get together in the next book. Luckily it's due out in a week or so.
