I am not one really for fight type films, yet with saying that I found Gladiator a very enjoyable film . One of Russel Crow's better films. At the time of watching this movie I was a big fan of Joaquin Phoenix . Enjoyed Russel's character as well as the other actors characters and have watched this movie a number of times.

Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot was a fantastic film! Joaquin Phoenix plays John Callahan, an alcoholic who gets help becoming sober after an accident that paralyzes him and in the process discovers he has a real knack for drawing funny comic strips. For anyone who finds his art offensive, I think your funny bone might be paralyzed.

The film reflects what its like to live with mental health issues without glamourising it and how society deal with it. Its dark and reflective of events today. (1 more)
The Batverse is touched on but it doesn't take over. Joaquin Phoenix is amazing as is De niro.
If you are expecting a Batman film you will be disappointed. In places its uncomfortable to watch. (0 more)

Russell Crowe was meant for this role... he's perfect. (1 more)
Joaquin Phoenix is also perfect.... I can't imagine anyone better
one of my top five films of all time...
Seriously, I know that some people say this is a guys movie alone, but I think it's so much more than that it's philosophy, and drama, betrayal, and legacy, it's about doing what is right and just no matter the consequences and also about just surviving.... I think the testosterone has merit....

Little known fact: Joaquin Phoenix ad-libbed his scream of "Am I not merciful?" Connie Nielsen wasn't expecting it, and her frightened reaction was genuine. Also Connie Nielsen found the two-thousand-year-old signet ring she wears in the movie in an antique store.

If you've nt yet given the movie a chance you should do so... it's worthy of the watch....

Are you not entertained?

Here's some alternate movie posters then

Ledger who ?
Ledger who ? Might be a bit strong but after watching Pheonix play out this role it is nice to see that this role can be played and leave us at a point where we can appreciate how good the acting was by both men.

The story is extremely well scripted and played out. Watching somebody struggle with their own mental health, you can see that isn't that far fetched a story as you feel for the character and the demons he faces.

The cast around Phoenix are excellent and understated enough to showcase the performance by Phoenix.

I came out of this movie instantly wanting to watch it again and left me and my buddies still talking about it days later. It has been a long long time since a film had that effect on me. !

Great singing
A very good film about the life of Johnny Cash
A great biopic that follows the life and career of Johnny Cash. It follows the singer from his early life growing up in Arkansas until his famous performance at Folsom prison. Brilliant lead performances from Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash and Reese Witherspoon as June Carter make this movie a good watch for anyone, even if your not a big fan of Johnny Cash.

I’d highly recommend!

The biggest joke would be if Phoenix doesn't win best actor
While watching this film, I noticed a strange thing. People in the audience were laughing at parts that I didn't think were supposed to be funny. I laughed at parts that some didn't too. Joaquin Phoenix said that you as the viewer choose to side with Arthur (his character) or not. And just by these reactions I saw and felt, he is right. This is one of the things that makes this movie so great.

The movie is basically a man's decent into madness and the things that push him to it. When the movie starts, we see he already has problems. But between getting bullied and finding out about his past and many other tragedies, he totally loses it. Or does he? By the end, you may think he actually has an awakening.

Of course, without Phoenix's portrayal, none of this is possible. Joaquin takes the Joker character and makes him totally unique. He may be the greatest Joker seen on the screen. Already knew he was a great actor, but he is just amazing. You feel for him, you know what he's going through, you cheer him and yet, he does horrible things.

The supporting cast is very good as well, but they are outshined by Phoenix. DeNiro's Johnny Carson/Joe Frankin-type TV host may be the only one that comes close to Phoenix, but still, Joker is tops.

If you're expecting a super-hero movie, like the ones we've seen recently, forget it. Even Scorcese must admit, this is a cinematic masterpiece.
