This is truly one of the best, and most beautiful shows ever created. Jonah Hill and Emma Stone both step into roles outside of their respective "wheel houses" and completely nailed it in both cases.

Approaching mental health in film has proven a difficult task in the past, with some exception of course. But I've never seen it done so beautifully and with such a seeming of understanding.

I believe that this show is the best sci fi show Netflix has produced, possibly the best show it has produced overall. Please don't sleep on this one. It starts slow, but you won't be able to look away after a bit.

"It’s probably gonna be a very comedy-heavy list, but, one of my favorite movies is Superbad. Big Judd Apatow fan. I kinda always have been, still am, and that movie actually came out, like, my senior year of high school, so it was kinda like the perfect timing for me. It was right before me going to college, and if you remember Superbad, that’s what their whole quest was. Jonah Hill, Judd Apatow, Michael Cera, all those guys, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader — those are all still, to this day, some of my favorite comedians and actors to watch. That’s a big one for me."

Sneak a peek at the literary fiction novel RIVER, SING OUT by James Wade on my blog! This book sounds so good! (Check out that gorgeous cover too!)

**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
“And through these ages untold, the river did act as the lifeblood of all those things alongside it.”
Jonah Hargrove is celebrating his thirteenth birthday by avoiding his abusive father, when a girl named River stumbles into his yard, injured and alone. The teenager has stolen thousands of dollars’ worth of meth from her murderous, drug-dealing boyfriend, but lost it somewhere in the Neches River bottoms during her escape. Jonah agrees to help her find and sell the drugs so she can flee East Texas.
Chasing after them is John Curtis, a local drug kingpin and dog fighter, as well as River’s boyfriend, the dangerous Dakota Cade.
Each person is keeping secrets from the others—deadly secrets that will be exposed in violent fashion as all are forced to come to terms with their choices, their circumstances, and their own definition of God.
With a colorful cast of supporting characters and an unflinching violence juxtaposed against lyrical prose, River, Sing Out dives deep into the sinister world of the East Texas river bottoms, where oppressive poverty is pitted against the need to believe in something greater than the self.

Abby and her brother Jonah make a shocking discovery when the mirror in the basement of their new house sucks them through and they find themselves in the woods. When they keep Snow White from eating the poisoned apple, they must find a way to fix her story and make it home.

This was a short but delightful story that anyone looking for an early chapter book will appreciate. A twist or two along the way even surprised me. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

I won this book in a contest.

'Maniac' on Netflix with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill was absolutely fantastic. The characters have so many layers, both actor and actress play multiple roles, with multiple accents, all believable. Just completely blew me away. Fantastic ending. (0 more)
The first four episodes are confusing. You really have to hang in there and pay attention in order for it all to come together. This definitely isn't a show you can multitask during. I only say this is a negative to make sure people understand it's a show (1 more)
WORTH paying attention to. So if you don't have the time or ability to pay attention to it, I would wait until you do.

This historical drama is unusual but entertaining for anyone who loves period pieces with detail and a slightly surreal flourish. It has a beautifully described backdrop of 18th century London and a cast of characters that fill the pages with their dreams, obsessions and whimsies. Jonah Hancock is shocked to discover that the Captain of his ship has sold the vessel in exchange for… a mermaid. The acquisition of such a rare find catapults Hancock into the highest circles of society and into the path of Angelica Neal, a beautiful courtesan in need of assistance. Their journey is changed by the creature, leading you to ponder the power of these mythical creatures. An enjoyable Georgian romp.
