Prison Break - Season 4
Prison Break - Season 4
2008 | Action
Twisted Endings
True to Prison Break form, the new season is laid out as a series of tasks. Still keeping up the suspense and wit.

I find the new season and the out of prison setting actually fresh. You really cannot trust any of the characters here. You think they're on the good side, but it turns out you're wrong. Still managed to be kept entertained, despite the suspension of disbelief required.

Sadly, in this season, a million little things have to fall in place every time for the plot to go on. Other times they just don't. Yet, they were able to keep appearances. But this season has gone a little overboard. Some events aren't justified or aren't build up to them; they just happen. And if you don't accept them, too bad, cause that's how it is. Almost as if they are throwing as much as they can at you. Still filled with many twists and backstabs. That can either cause engagement or head spin. What used to be a band of criminals is now the best covert ops group in the world, pulling multiple Mission Impossible's (c) per episode and randomly navigating through a web of confusing conspiracies.

But, it still manages to keep one wanting to find out what comes next. So it didn't lose that touch.

Universal Monster
This movie is such a classic, it came out after dracula, frankenstein and the mummy. Out of all the universal monster movies, i like this one the most. It combines sci-fi, horror, psychological espects, and overall the invisible man just being a dick/asshole to everybody in his pathway. This classic movie is based off of a H.G. Wells novel, and if you dont know who that is, look him up..."The War of the Worlds".

The plot: While researching a new drug, Dr. Jack Griffin (Claude Rains) stumbles on a potion that can make him invisible. When he reveals his new ability to his old mentor (Henry Travers) and his fiancée (Gloria Stuart), it's clear that a side effect of the potion is insanity. Jack goes on a violent rampage, and the police struggle to hunt him down, unable to see their target, while his mentor and his former partner (William Harrigan) desperately try to devise a plan to capture him.

You have Claude Rains playing "The Invisible Man", he is excellent in this film. Cause like i said his charcter is just a dick/asshole to everybody in his pathway but has a heart of gold for his love.

If you havent seen this film, i would highly recordmend it, cause it is fantasic and phenomenal.

This certainly wasn't the best thriller that I have read but on the other hand it wasn't the worst. Until about half way through I would describe this book as a page-turner but for me it unfortunately fell flat at the end. I understand that the focus of the book would cause a fair amount of repetition, however, there was so much it eventually lead to boredom. Although a good idea for a novel I felt it lacked certain thrills and didn't have a strong enough punch. I'm all for the idea, on the fence about it's execution and just plain disappointed about the outcome.

"Number three, I don’t know the name of the director [Ed. note: Eliseo Subiela], unfortunately, but it was a movie made in the ’80s called Man Facing Southeast. It’s an Argentine film. I should really find out who the director is, ’cause I saw it a bunch of times in an art theater in the mid ’80s when it was released. I fell in love with it and I dragged all of my friends to go see it, and of course none of them liked it as much as I did, but something about it I just found incredibly powerful and it really resonated with me."

"Then I have, well, I have two movies: Godfather one and two. An incredibly absorbing story that unravels and captures a time that really existed in New York. It just draws you in and just keeps you. There are moments in that that you can’t believe. You watch it and you go, “Oh, right” and then you hear the dialogue and then you realize that this is an incredibly famous quote. [Laughs] It’s all-time, basically. A side one that I love, just ’cause I grew up watching it, and it happened to air around my birthday in December, was The Sound of Music. It reminds me very much of my childhood, that kind of hopeful, contagious optimism that Julie Andrews had — and also set in the backdrop of war. But that’s more of a childhood thing. Then there’s Drunken Master, but for different reasons, and different entertainment values, you know? It’s hard. There’s a list a mile long. In very small font. But asked to narrow it down, I will narrow it down to those movies right now. [Laughs]"

There's a great story in here somewhere (just look at the movie) but unfortunately, for me, it's undercut by the voice of the protagonist. Pat has just been released from an involuntary stay at a mental institution, sure, but mental illness does not equate to mental simplicity. Throughout the entire narration, Pat is portrayed as childlike. His comprehension of the goings-on surrounding his release and recovery is naive, it's cursory, and woefully incomplete. Pat is recovering from a pretty severe psychotic break, and likely suffers from bipolar disorder, neither of which I'd think would cause the stunted mental capacity that he appears to exhibit.

There are flashes of good in there, such as <spoiler>when Pat, (knowing he's been away for years) still refers to his stay in the facility as "just a few months." With firm evidence in hand, his brain simply ignores it.</spoiler>

In many other places though, Pat seems to be written in a way that screams "Look how mentally deranged I am," rather than giving us a more real, grounded recovery from a psychotic episode. I never get the sense of the tortured and confused existence that Pat purports to feel, I just see the caricature he is presented as, and the entire narrative suffers as a result.

A heady irreverent drama-dy fit for older millennials.
One of my favorite genres! I love messing with time-lines and time-loops. This show doesn't fall into the easy writing errors that many make with this genre. They don't spend time with exposition figuring out the "Why" of the plot. Instead, they just deal with the issues presented to them. They don't spend time messing with issues that can cause big continuity errors. They instead just use the plot to tell the story. The story was well thought out and beautifully told. It is a story essential for millenials struggling with identity, how we are shaped by others, and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to those around us. Bravo! 9/10 would watch again.

A fun movie not to be taken seriously
WoW! What a massive amount of hate for this comedy on here. That's just crazy to me, I mean I didn't love this movie but I didn't hate it either. All the characters are charming, dumb, but charming none the less. The overall story isn't that good but it does get the job done. Its a move about equality, not empowerment so don't get that twisted because in my opinion the trailers certainly did. At the end, of course, she finds out more about herself and not men. It's about figuring ourselves out our strengths our flaws and working on them. So, in conclusion, I thought this was a good film with a positive message and plus I'm always at least going to rate any Taraji lead movie a 5 cause shes just great no matter what.

Hope Tala is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from London, England. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “Lovestained” single.

“Slipping back into happiness ‘cause you give me more time to live a life that sings like mine. You make me drowsy with delight and I’m slipping back into feeling blessed. ‘Cause you are so damn fine and I’ll skip into the sunlight with you and skip back at midnight.” – lyrics

‘Lovestained’ is the first single taken from Hope Tala’s upcoming EP.

So far, the likable tune has amassed over 500,000 streams online since being released in April.

Also, the song contains a relatable storyline, warm vocals, and tropical-flavored instrumentation laced with drifting acoustic guitar chords.

“‘Lovestained’ sits in the grey area between infatuation and love. When you just want the person you’re interested in to give you a little bit more of themselves so that you can let yourself fall for them.” – Hope Tala

Half-whispered and half-sung, ‘Lovestained’ is sheer honey for the ears. Also, it’s a sensual treat that lingers long after the first note drifts away on the open breeze.
