This book was captivating, I've been slacking on my reading lately and I couldn't put it down. Markus Zusak really knows how to convey a story and keep you gripped right until the end.

I've knocked a star off solely for the fact that I wasn't satisfied by the ending, I just didn't like the way it tied things together but for the whole I thought the book was exciting and very enjoyable to read.

"A rich and complex hypnogogic experience. Just where is this story taking place? In a dream, in memory . . . in the afterlife? Are these even questions that you can ask about a movie like this? Resnais structures the film in an ever looping pattern—everything turning in on itself again and again. The narrative seems to match the very patterns of how memory works. Every viewing reveals new layers of meaning previously unseen. A masterpiece."

"I just saw this for the first time while dizzy with some sort of flu, and I thought it was lovely. I suppose your personal results may vary. Smeary and dreamlike and bustling and human, in every frame it seems like there’s some sort of constant struggle to breathe, to be seen, to shake through. And the sudden weird handful of dialogue sequences are almost impossibly stiff, making the whole experience that much more surreal."

Karin is good at suspense; heck, not good, great. But I felt so much frustration with this book. I just wanted to know. Each misleading piece of information made me more irritated. Angie's return had my teeth clenching - I really do not like that woman. I liked Undone, but it's not my favorite Slaughter/Will Trent book and I can only hope I don't feel the same way about the next installment.

Enjoyed this as much as Gabe aggravated me at times

I chuckled a few times, I cried a little, I willed them to stop being so stupid and just get together...and when they finally gave in, it was beautiful! But Gabe up to that point annoyed me a lot. I guess he had his reasons for being how he was, but he wasn't helping me like him any!

Nevertheless, I did enjoy reading this.

This novel is AMAZING! The narrative is excellent and the timing is impeccable. The structure is unique and well-done. This story deals with the post-apocalypse in a much more internalized way so that it just feels like another occurrence. The real mastery is the character development and poignant situations which are relatable and incredible all at once. Definitely one of my favorites of the year and an indisputable must read!

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 (2018)

Great animation. (1 more)
Great acting.
Long runtime. (1 more)
Not as funny as the first movie.
Ralph doesn't quite strike gold for the second time.
Thinking of Wreck it Ralph you'll usually think of the first movie and unfortunately for the sequel you'll probably still think of the first one. That's not to say that the second one is bad, it just can't quite leave the shadow of greatness that was the first movie.

The jokes fall a little flatter, and the friendship between the main duo is kinda creepy in a sense, at least when it comes to how much Ralph can't let Vanellope go. It also feels exceptionally long for an animated movie.

Moving to the good... It is at least still funny albeit not as funny as the first. Vanellope is still the main draw even though the film has the name Ralph in it. He just can't compare to Vanellope who steals all the scenes she's in.

If you like Kids movies I'd recommend this anyway and if you like Animated movies it's as good as the majority of them. Just don't go into it thinking it's gonna be as amazing as the first movie.

Rainbow Rowell basically wrote fanfiction which was based on her book Fangirl, which I was completely up for. I loved Cath’s little snippets of fanfiction throughout the book so to read a whole book of it?! Yes please!

I completely fell in love with Simon and Baez in Fangirl, so I was really excited to finally be able to read some more of their story.

I don’t think it quite lived up to my expectations, though. Through Fangirl, I can remember thinking that the Simon Snow books just sounded like a rip off of Harry Potter which I was okay with because it wasn’t the main plot of the book. But then reading Carry On was just like reading some Harry Potter fanfiction which I hadn’t been expecting and I found quite disappointing.

I was hoping for more of an original plot but this retelling of the ‘chosen one’ plot just really didn’t work as an ‘original’ story.

Overall I feel that it could have been written better. I enjoy reading fanfics which is why this is still a 3 from me, but for an author as good as Rainbow Rowell, it was a bit disappointing.
