Has anyone ever run a movie club? like a book club for movie fans? I'm starting one this week for my Apartment Building. We are going to see Mary Poppins. It got me thinking if maybe we start one on here.

We could do one every week, different hosts. Pick the movie on Monday, everyone see it by Sunday, then post an online discussion thread on Monday.

I'm really just spit balling, I'm open to any ideas you all have.

I also know that AMC does the $5 movie Tuesdays so we are taking advantage of that to do our movie club on Tuesdays.

You'd have to pick movies that were available on both I suppose.

Or we could do multiples.... like a Netflix Movie Club, a Hulu Movie Club, and maybe an Amazon Prime Movie Club.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very intriguing idea the whole nature/nurture thing but for some reason a lot of times the book just fell flat for me. There were a few moments where Addie's notions about life were challenged and I would have loved to see him interacting more with these ideas and technology.

Addie's is great for an unlikable narrator. Maybe a little too good? I don't exactly get the feeling that he'd actually changed that much by the end of the book.

This was one of the few book series that I obsessively read and instantly loved. The romance isn't fast paced, there's historical facts that are interesting, and Maniscalco really knew how to captivate not just me, but other readers too (I got my friend obsessed with this series as well).
I will say, its not for those who don't like the extreme detail on violence and gore, but if you're a fan of crime novels and topics such as Jack the Ripper, then you ought to love this book!
I'm so glad I found this book and would happily recommend this to many people.

"I don’t really read Stephen King—I just can’t read scary things because it stays with me too long—but I truly liked his memoir of the craft of writing. It’s the most accurate depiction of what writing is like and it’s not necessarily glamorous the way we’ve seen it on “Sex and the City,” where you sit down and bang out an article in 30 minutes. He’s good at mining his personal life and letting that inspire his creativity. That’s the ideal way to go about writing, to be informed by your life and use it in a way that can entertain other people."

"There’s never been anyone like Vertamae Smart Grosvenor, and there never will be. She is such an important source of inspiration for me, reluctant recipe writer and follower that I am. She’s spicy, saucy, sassy and silly, and her voice entirely her own: “When I cook, I never measure or weigh anything,” she wrote. “I cook by vibration. I can tell by the look and smell of it. Most of the ingredients in this book are approximate. Some of the recipes that people gave me list the amounts, but for my part, I just do it by vibration. Different strokes for different folks. Do your thing your way.”"
