The Godfather (1972)
The Godfather (1972)
1972 | Crime, Drama

"There’s nothing more to be said about the Godfather, movies. I mean, like, just leave a blank. I have nothing to say, except they’re probably my favorite movies. I mean, what do you say about that?"

The Godfather: Part II (1974)
The Godfather: Part II (1974)
1974 | Crime, Drama

"Then I gotta go Godfather II. I think it was my first, “Wow, I feel like I just watched an epic.” Because you get both sides of the story, because you’re able to see where De Niro’s coming from, just seeing those guys in the movie. Again, I think there’s something that, when a sequel can hit it right, to keep pushing, instead of, “Let’s capitalize on what we did the first time.” And for me, maybe one the first movies where I felt like, “Ooh, we’re getting a backstory.” That, to me, was really thrilling. And just to see those guys, that young and hungry. I mean, that’s it. That’s it, right there."

Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989)
Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989)
1989 | Comedy, Drama

"I love how thought-provoking that film is. I love that there’s a lot of great laughs in it, but there’s a lot of pathos. Alan Alda has never been better at being a douchebag than in this. It’s just got so much humanity, and it’s a comedy but it’s not pushing the comedy, it just is. There’s so much I like about that movie, I just thought it was a great combination. Sometimes Woody gets a little jokey and slapstick and sometimes he gets a little lost up in his head a little bit; this movie had a lot going on. I felt like it explored morality and the human condition."

I really loved this book. I'll admit, I did think the after would prove to be the end of Alaska, but now that I think about it, it makes sense in the context of how the story was told. I liked that Miles, aka Pudge, was just a regular kid trying to survive high school, and just life in general. I loved the Colonel, he seemed like someone I would have liked to know. Alaska was a complex character; she seemed so full of and energy at times, and angry and unpredictable at others. Life is precious and you just have to live each moment like it's your last, maybe we're all just searching for "the great perhaps."

this felt rushed. but then that might be because i read it all in one sitting. it just seemed like everything was solved too quickly and neatly.
maybe it was the version i was reading but it seemed like important events weren't covered to the extent they should have been. like dermot's visit to jason.
but i can't wait for the next one!

There Will Be Blood (2007)

"There Will Be Blood is one that I adore. I think I saw it about four or five times in the theater. I just think Paul Thomas Anderson is a genius. I’ve never seen performances like that, and I’ve never seen something so thoughtfully and beautifully shot."

Wow. That's all I really have to say for this magnificent, beautiful, and emotional stop-motion film that tells the story of Pinocchio like I have never seen it before. What a glorious piece of art that may just be my new favorite Guillermo del Toro film.

Well designed but I just didn't get into it.
I love the look and the feel of this game. I completely admire the way they keep people hooked and and playing. It is interesting that with it being a Warcraft/Blizzard game that I am not fanboy all over it but... I just don't dig it.

The card game style has just never grabbed me. Give it a shot and see if you like for me it doesn't work.

28 Days Later (2002)
2002 | Horror, Sci-Fi
This film was horrendous. The sexism and misogyny that radiates from this movie are too much. The plot is bad, the acting was bad, it's really just bad. I have a friend who said that this is one of his favorite movies and for the life of me, I can't figure out why!

Maybe it's just not my jam, personally, I don't know. I just can say, without a doubt, I did not like this film.

"Let’s go to Fist of Legend. Yuen Woo-ping directing [choreography for] Jet Li. I was shown that film by the Wachowskis before shooting The Matrix, and that was like, “This is amazing.” The storytelling and the fights are what I really like. It’s just good, hard, Yuen Woo-ping choreography; Jet Li’s awesome; there’s a lot of fighting… yeah, I’m definitely gonna say that one. A good, clean, awesome fight movie."
