Slick, intelligent thriller with a lot of twists
It's been a while since I've a genuinely coherent thriller. The characters are fabulous, two guys, one secretly in love with the other, just attempting to find and understand the disappearance of two boys. There is twist after twist, but while there is zero character development, the plot is enough to keep listening. It's slightly different to the current theme of 'neurotic woman finds killer' story. It is also very witty in places and extremely dark. A thoroughly enjoyable listen.

The Past Catches Up With Us All
Return to Arkane's Dishonored universe and play either as an older Emily, who grown up into a killer assassin, or as her father Corvo, now older and more weather beaten. The gameplay is similar to the first game, but new powers and abilities have been added to the player's arsenal. The story expands out of Dunwall and into Victorian Europe, where certain targets must be brought down for Emily to retake her rightful place on the throne.

Superb stalk and slash with Savini effects
Tonight's viewing is this little gem from the 80s. Standard stalk and slash who dunnit with a very predictable killer but it's the work of gore wizard Tom Savini that's the real star here and what separates it from the other many slasher films made during the 80s and 90s. He gives us so many amazing death scenes with effects that hold up 37 whole years since release. A must watch for slasher fans and gore hounds!

Well written (1 more)
A mix of humour
Sharp, witty and thrilling
I'm a little late at getting round to watching this, having heard very good reviews about it. It's a great premise a serial killer working in the Miami police dept who targets other killers. It's very witty as well and largely has a darkly comic side to it. The story running through the series though plays out like a top selling thriller novel. It's a great mix that works very well. If you missed it check it out.

Amazing from start to end.

I love this game for the beginning and couldn't stop playing until I completed it. I was shocked to discover the true killer behind her father's death and was satisfied with everything.
When the game ended with her sacrificing herself to save the world I almost cried but was so glad she didn't actually die and took over her family business. I just hope she would do a few more adventures and that the series wouldn't end there.

Want to build a snowman It doesn't have to be in one piece
The story of a serial killer in Norway who leaves a snowman outside the house of it's victims. The detective who gets in charge and becomes obsessed with this new case as it refers to other cold cases. The other officer who is on the case has her own reasoning on who is committing this crime but, has a obsession for wrong reason.
Not a bad movie but, figured out who it was pretty fast from certain clues. No a rewatchable movie

Cinematography
Artistic Slasher
A very stylish Slasher film that is very different to the norm. I'm not sure if this was a remake of the old Slasher film or not? What makes this stand out is a great performance from Elijah Wood. It's also quite shocking rather than a tongue in cheek horror as most Slasher films fall into. Also the fact the view point of the majority of the film is through the eyes of the killer. Something better and varied to most horror films.

Bee (0 KP) rated Lady Midnight in Books
Jan 29, 2018
Wow, what can I say? I thoroughly enjoyed reading Lady Midnight. I felt for all of the characters, I had favorites who turned into less desirable characters towards the end. I thought I'd predicted who the killer was and then a sense of dread and realisation and I found myself flicking back to earlier parts of the story to cement what I now knew was true before Emma pieced it together herself. I can't wait to read the next installment! I'm especially looking forward to seeing how Kit and Ty interact with each other.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2400 KP) rated Dead Man's Island (Henrie O, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Henrie O gets a call from her old lover that he needs help, so she flies to his island. Once there, she learns he fears for his life, and sure enough he is murdered during a storm. Trapped on the island with a killer, can Henrie figure out who done it? A good puzzler that would make Christie proud. My only complaint was the ending was rushed, and the book deserved better.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2400 KP) rated The Homicide Hustle: A Ballroom Dance Mystery in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The reality TV competition Ballroom with the B-Listers has hit DC, and Graysin Motion is one of the featured studios. But when one of the show's producers dies, Stacy begins digging around to find the killer. The characters and plot are a little light even for a cozy, but the story comes together well at the end. Anyone with an interest in ballroom dance will certainly enjoy it.
