Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Ash (Hive Trilogy, #1) in Books

So I finished an awesome paranormal two books so far series, [b:Captive|30830592|Captive|Jex Lane|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1467474117s/30830592.jpg|51425133] and [b:Sire|32721063|Sire|Jex Lane|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1477076298s/32721063.jpg|52587454] and hunted for something to read similar and noticed that pretty much all my kindle books were contemporary romances. Then I decided to scour Amazon for new paranormal reads and this was a freebie!!
I am so glad I downloaded it! I loved pretty much everything about it. It had vampires, romance, action, sexual tension... and then a little shocker at the end!
I really need to read the rest of this trilogy!

A shadow over Innsmouth
By H. P Lovecraft
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
The story describes of a strange hybrid race, half-human and half an unknown creature that resembles a cross between a fish and frog, that dwells in the seaside village of Innsmouth (formerly a large town, but lately fallen into disrepair). The townspeople worship Cthulhu and Dagon, a Philistine deity incorporated into the Cthulhu Mythos.
He certainly has way of telling stories. This one was interesting and kinda gross I could almost smell the stench. One of the better ones I’ve read so far.

Huh. I'm Team Nate all the way so I wasn't really impressed by all the Max time in this book. I don't feel the same chemistry between him and Hanna as I do between her and Nate.
So damn right he turned up at the end! And thank God he isn't dead or I'd be throwing my Kindle across my bedroom right now! He needs to stop being an arse about the new family thing and Hanna needs to tell him about the pregnancy and then they can FINALLY get together because they are perfect for each other.
Already bought book 3, off to start it.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated With Every Heartbeat (Forbidden Men, #4) in Books

Hmm...this one didnt quite grab me, either, like the first two did. As much as i love Quinn and the last half of this book, the first half with Cora...well, i just wanted to throw my kindle/laptop/phone because it felt so wrong! She was so horrible and Quinn was so lovely.
One thing i do love about this series, though, is how close this gang is. They all rib and tease each other but will stick up for each other in a heartbeat. It's so nice!
I can't wait to read Ten and Caroline's story so I'm off to start it right now :D

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Luna and the Lie in Books
Jan 11, 2021
4.25 stars
I think Luna's inability to believe that people don't do nice things just to be nice and not because they feel sorry for you/want something in return was very annoying. Yeah, crappy childhood/crappy parents, but it's been a good handful of years! Let it go! There were so many times I mentally screamed at my kindle while reading this. He likes you, stupid!
They got there in the end but God did I cry like a baby for a while. I think it was more frustration than anything though. She was so blind!
I will read all future releases by the author.

Anarchy ( Hove Trilogy 2)
By jaymin Eve and Leia Stone
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Did Charlie Bennett ever tell you that vampires are evil spawn? Well they are!
She's had just about enough of them and when the unthinkable happens, she decides it might just be time to use her blood as a weapon against them.
It's time for a little anarchy.
It was a decent read and we found out a lot more about Charlie. I was a little disappointed in parts and I can’t pinpoint what but something was annoying me about the whole situation. But still a few good reveals ready for book 3.

Dr Blessing’s Curse or The Baby in the Bell-Jar ( Dr Blessing book 1)
By Jack Rollins
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From a monster, a miracle?
After a dinner party, Doctor George Blessing reveals to his friend a secret that he has carried for three years. His most horrific case to date has left him so tormented that his marriage, his practice and his very sanity are at stake. But will his friend understand? Can he even help? Can anyone break the Doctor's curse?
Brilliant first instalment of a short story! Was totally dragged in and loved it. Very dark and definitely something I love.

Midlife Blues (Not Too Late 2)
By Victoria Danann
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Begins with the formerly reclusive, gentleman vampire hosting a murder mystery dinner you'll never forget, and ends with the case of the captured kelpie. From Hallow Hill to northern Ireland, don't miss your favorite judge's magical adventures.
I liked it but it didn’t have the punch the first one had. It was interesting hearing the court trials and meeting so many different creatures. Felt a little rushed to me but I it still made me smile. Worth a read! To be honest who would want this job and to live in this village? My dream!
