Doing Wright ( Teach Me book 1)

Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments

Nineteen year old Jacy is a college girl with a wild and wicked streak. She's always had a penchant for older men, so it's no surprise she'd fantasize about being taken by her professor in every possible way. Then again, her imagination has always gotten her into trouble.

When the sinfully gorgeous Mr. Wright shows up at her door one night, she's sure she can tempt the brooding alpha male into taking control and claiming what he needs, but at what price?

Whether it's on her knees or bent over a bed, he'll give her a night she'll never forget, but she's been to this party before with disastrous results. Will their tryst be the best night of her life, or the worst mistake she's ever made?

It’s exactly as described! A short novel with well written hot sex! Not much else to say!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mia Corvere is only ten years old when she is given her first lesson in death.

Destined to destroy empires, the child raised in shadows made a promise on the day she lost everything: to avenge herself on those that shattered her world.

But the chance to strike against such powerful enemies will be fleeting, and Mia must become a weapon without equal. Before she seeks vengeance, she must seek training among the infamous assassins of the Red Church of Itreya.

Inside the Church's halls, Mia must prove herself against the deadliest of opponents and survive the tutelage of murderers, liars and daemons at the heart of a murder cult.

The Church is no ordinary school. But Mia is no ordinary student.

Oh I just loved it! It was dark and dangerous. I love his writing and this did not disappoint. It was everything I expected it to be, the story and characters were just so interesting I didn’t want to stop reading.

A small Dublin pub …

… holds the key to humanity’s survival.

Who will learn its secret?

Half vampire, half fae, Phoenix is an abomination in the eyes of the supernatural community. Screw them! She’s more than happy to play human in the cosy Irish pub she calls home.

At least until an annoying werewolf comes knocking.

Because Phoenix may be done with the supernatural world, but it’s not quite done with her.

Her birth has triggered a prophecy, and now the clock is ticking. Humanity will be the first to suffer for her existence.

Everything, and everyone, she loves is in danger, and as the body count rises Phoenix must learn to embrace the darkest parts of herself.

Or lose it all.

I wasn’t sure about this at first but I ended up really enjoying it. Definitely a lighter fun read that flowed really well. The story and characters were good, full of all the supernatural creatures we’ve come to love.

Shadow Lands (The Warrior Chronicles 3)
By K.F. Breene
⭐️⭐️⭐️

In order to finally claim her title of Chosen and lead the Shadow People out of the Land of Mist, Shanti must make it through a century's old system to test her battle awareness, her fighting skill, and her ability to stay alive. She's about to enter The Trials, and she must do it alone.

Separated from Shanti on a dangerous island, Cayan must learn to use his mental skill while keeping his men safe from the people set out to kill them. But as more Inkna and Graygual flood the island, Cayan hears of a sinister force deep in the woods, rigging The Trials and killing any who venture too close.

It is now a race against time. The battle to become the Chosen has begun, and the victor is anything but decided.

Out of the 3 so far this one is the better of them. It had more story and the characters less annoying. I actually found myself liking it.

A Dowry of Blood ( Book 1)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my last love letter to you, though some would call it a confession. . .

Saved from the brink of death by a mysterious stranger, Constanta is transformed from a medieval peasant into a bride fit for an undying king. But when Dracula draws a cunning aristocrat and a starving artist into his web of passion and deceit, Constanta realizes that her beloved is capable of terrible things.

Finding comfort in the arms of her rival consorts, she begins to unravel their husband's dark secrets. With the lives of everyone she loves on the line, Constanta will have to choose between her own freedom and her love for her husband. But bonds forged by blood can only be broken by death.

Not sure what I was expecting but I really really enjoyed this. Gothic vampire story full of that old feeling. The characters were so intriguing. Well written gave me Angel and spike early days vibes ( if you know you know).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story of a boy who dreamed of becoming a man… But dreamed up a monster instead

You’re on the run. Marked. Don’t think about the kid you used to be when you’re homeless and dumpster-diving in the rain. Just eat whatever you find to keep your engine full. Because the shadow with too many teeth wants you tired.

You’re easier to catch when you’re tired.

It has hunted you since the summer of 1994, back when we confessed who we were through mixtapes. When every movie at the video store had dirty heads. You were thirteen and thought you knew who you were. Only the shadow with too many teeth knew you better. It still does. And it won’t stop. Not until you come home.

Back to where it all began.

I’ve never read anything like it. It was just one of those books where you are shook to the core but can’t stop reading. So so good. This was so brilliantly written.

Cruel ( Savannah Heirs 1)
By Raven Kennedy & Coralee June
⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve got a secret.

Savannah, Georgia is full of debutantes and greed. The Heirs own this town. They own me, too.

I don’t know what I did to ruin what we had. But their kindness turned cruel almost a year ago. I was prepared to leave it all behind and start over at a new school. But Rogue Kelly, the king of the Heirs, ruined that.

He doesn’t want me anymore but doesn’t want anyone else to have me either. I know too much to be set free, but not enough to stay.

The Heirs aren’t through with me yet. And I crave their cruelty too much to give up now.

When I first started reading this I honestly thought it would be a DNF but I was pleasantly surprised I actually liked it. I liked the story it had some bite reminded me a little of Penelope Douglas books. Not a bad read.

⭐️⭐️

Sierra is coming to terms with the discovery of her family's dark secrets and mastering the elements when London's Guardians begin to vanish one by one.

Certain the Culpatus is behind the abductions, she needs to uncover where they're taking the Guardians before it is too late. However, she can't do this alone and must team up with the last person she wants to deal with - Gavin.

Gavin has broken her heart, and yet, she still longs for him, even though she's dating Cooper.

The mission to rescue the Guardians will test Sierra, Gavin, and Cooper like nothing has ever before and take them deep into the lair of the Culpatus.

Will they manage to free their people, or will they end up prisoners themselves?

I don’t know why but this one I really really struggled with. I’m not sure where I became a little bored and it’s a shame as the other 2 books i enjoyed. This one I couldn’t get on with.

Broken Bonds ( The Bonds that Tie 1)
By J. Bree
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds. I was sure everything would be okay if I had them. It wasn’t. The fate of our people is in my hands and I know we’re better off if I’m alone. After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from. I thought I was doing the right thing. Now, I’m not so sure. North, Nox, Gryphon, Atlas, and Gabe may never forgive me but one thing is for sure. I won’t ever forgive myself

I’ve read quite a few with similar stories to this I think this one was one of the best I’ve read, these characters pulled out all the emotions. I have never wanted to see punch a character more than I have with these men that Happen to be bonded to her. Looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

At first glance, Phil Pendleton and his son Adam are just an ordinary father and son, no different from any other. They take walks in the park together, visit county fairs, museums, and zoos, and eat overlooking the lake. Some might say the father is a little too accommodating given the lack of discipline when the child loses his temper in public. Some might say he spoils his son by allowing him to set his own bedtimes and eat candy whenever he wants. Some might say that such leniency is starting to take its toll on the father, given how his health has declined. What no one knows is that Phil is a prisoner, and that up until a few weeks ago and a chance encounter at a grocery store, he had never seen the child before in his life.

Yea this would put you off having a kid for life! Brill I absolutely loved short, dark and sour!
