While it is a name I had heard before, I have to say it's not a story that I was familiar with (unlike that of, say, Robin Hood or King Arthur) - this, however, I actually found to be rather a dry read.

By taking the tack of telling the story of the man behind the legend, the novel loses much of the splendour and grandeur of that legend, replacing it instead with more mundane events that would become exagerrated over time.
While I may read the next two novels out of curiosity, I'm afraid to say that, based on this work, I wouldn't be going out of my way to look for any further of MK Hume's novels.

Lindsay (1717 KP) rated The Camelot Kids: Volume One (The Camelot Kids, #1-4) in Books
Feb 15, 2018 (Updated Apr 9, 2019)
Someone is trying to find him and wants him dead. Who could want him dead? He meets up with several different kids and is thrown from one action to another. He seem to be trying survive. Who could be King Arthur, Lancelot, many others? There seems to be more questions then answers.
What all will Simon be dealt with and understand. He makes friends and loss some as well. Their seems to be a mystery around the corner of each paged turned. I had a little bit of a hard time getting into it at the beginning of the book. Once the action started and the adventures. I was able to read it and understand it. It then seem like King Arthur and Round Table.
Pictures are done well. I really enjoyed looking at pictures. Images or pictures are colorful. I was looking and staring at the pictures for a short period of time. Children would love it. This is good for children ages 12 and up.
David McK (3425 KP) rated Robin Hood (2018) in Movies

As such, it touches all the key points - Robin of Locksley, the Crusades, Marian, the sheriff of Nottingham - while also attempting to be more inclusive (John is now a Moor, for example) than that legend.
I'm also not sure about some of the set design or costumes, and Ben Mendehlson (the sheriff) is no Alan Rickman!
