You know what they say if you can’t take the heat stay out of the kitchen…

This was my first time reading a book by Bethany Turner and I loved her sense of humor and style of writing. This story of two chefs learning to work together was filled with several ups and downs and great life lessons. The storyline reminded me of Iron Chef or Chopped

As much as I can't put this series down at the minute, it's more a case of the will they/won't they/please for the love of God do something! variety than about Integrity getting to know her past and learning the truth about what happened with her father. Though, that part is starting to get a lot more important to me.

Off to start book 3!

Ragtime. The only thing I know about it was that Scott Joplin was one of its composers. So learning about this era of American musical history, and the genre through a biographical, historical fiction novel was truly tempting! 3.5 stars.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one, when everything was so new and Jessie was learning to love her new family. Everything is more settled down, other than Jessie's love life of course--who should she choose: Tom or Jack? I was pretty equally torn until the half way-ish point and now I am pretty firmly Team Jack.
