Blast from the past! I discovered this book in my local library about 6 years ago and remember enjoying it so I thought I would give it another bash! Enjoyed it again the second time too! Now onto another Thomas Emson!!

Paper and fire ( Great Library book 2)
By Rachel Caine
LET THE WORLD BURN . . .
With an iron fist, the Great Library ruthlessly controls the knowledge of the world, forbidding the personal ownership of books in the name of the greater good. Jess Brightwell has survived his introduction to the sinister, seductive world of the Library, but his life and the lives of those he cares for have been altered for ever. Embarking on a mission to save one of their own, Jess and his band of allies suddenly find themselves hunted by the Library’s deadly automata and forced to flee Alexandria.
But Jess’s home isn’t safe any more. The Welsh army is coming, London is burning, and soon Jess must choose between his friends, his family, or a Library willing to sacrifice anything and anyone in the search for ultimate control . . .
A really good follow up from the first book. Full of action! Such an intricate world Rachel has created, I can’t imagine a world where I’m told what I can and can’t read it’s my worst nightmare. It’s good to see the gang free Thomas and all come together looking forward to seeing how they get out of their new drama!!

Great for eBooks
Like having a public library in your pocket. I used it, primarily, for audio books. I burned through the unabridged selection very quickly and stopped using it.
The eBook portion of the app is really good though. You can port it to almost any ereader and again, it is free just like the library.
If they would have a better selection of audio books that were not abridged, I would be back on this platform in a heartbeat.

Joelene Marie (28 KP) rated The Invisible Library in Books

The first in a new series, the invisible library is one I couldn't put down. I loved that it was a mystery surrounding the acquisition of my favorite thing in the world...books. I would have liked a little more backstory about the library itself in the beginning but it wasn't any real hindrance to the story. The action starts from the very beginning and the adventure continues until the end. I can't wait to read the next book and immerse myself back into this wonderful world. Highly recommended! Thanks to Penguin and First to Read for the ARC!
