[Rebirth] by[Debbie Brown] began with a quick pace that made it difficult for me to put down. The characters were authentic and you fell right in with their plight. The statement that was made about the youth being our hope could not have rung more true.

I would have liked to see more development and I am hoping she continues this story line. It had the potential to be wide read YA fiction given the current climate of the genre.

I have to try and find a paper version of this so I may add it to my classroom library.

I am huge Grisham fan. I own almost his entire library. This one was not as good as some of his others, but it wasn't horrible either. The characters were relate able, the story line was decent, the writing was good. It just wasn't all that catching. It was slow to start, slow in the middle and jam packed at the end. It seemed to build up to nothing really. There was just no explosive ending after all that building up. For me it wasn't a hit, nor was it a miss. It was just in the middle.

Platform with potential
I appreciate the function that borrowbox is providing but it is not a slick platform at all. I use it for library ebooks and audio. Ebooks are easier to read through the app but audios are absolutely problematic to use. For audio, download is clunky, and the lack of bookmarks is a nightmare. It is so easy to lose your place. Searching for books takes patience. This is nowhere near the usability of its competitors overdrive and libby. Much development needed.

With beautiful illustrations and interesting subject matter, this book is a win-win with curious children. and although it is quite short, it fills a child with wonder and lets them take in what they want before progressing to more challenging reading material. With appropriate technical language used, this book would be good in a school library and would work well for project work as well as curious individuals.
I am reviewing this book for Luann Columbo, Quarto Publishing, and NetGalley who gave me a copy of their book for an honest review.

4.5/5* This book was such a pleasant surprise - randomly picking it up at the library (and reading 30 pages while standing there) I decided to take it home - I finished it within a day I was so addicted. The ragtag group of teens battling bullying and drugs - trying to find themselves through the summer. I think the hometown hero aspect was so fun, each person doing something great and trying to make a difference, learning not all choices are going to be cut and dry, and even the romance was great. Such an awesome book.
