I chose this book at random from the public library, and I had no idea as to what it actually was.
The author is a 'Historian of Science' and did some in-depth studying of intersex. I didn't really know much about intersex, and it was horrifyingly interesting.

My biggest issue was that it rambled along, throughout her career and the controversies she encountered, blah, blah, rambling about social justice movements, I lost interest.

Then... she decided to compare herself to Galileo. BLESS YOUR HEART - and I mean that in the most demeaning, insulting way possible. This lady is no Galileo, and it was a laughable comparison.

"Istanbul, London, Madrid, Boston…ever since my childhood I lived in numerous countries. One of the downsides of a nomadic life is that you can never keep a proper library. At some point, I had boxes of books in Istanbul, waiting to be shipped, boxes of books in Arizona. You have to let go of even your most beloved possessions when you live a peripatetic life, but there was one author whose voice I could never do without: James Baldwin—the observer, the commuter, the rebel. Notes of a Native Son is a collection of essays about language, racism, hatred, and ultimately, resilience and dignity."

I was easily drawn into this from the first page, it made me laugh throughout and I liked both Stephanie and Morelli.

I don't think I would have figured out who was behind it all, at all, but I always knew there was something a little iffy about the person.

I'd be interested in continuing the series as I have visions of Stephanie and Morelli getting it on at some point in the future.

To save me buying the next God knows how many books in this series I'm really thinking of joining my local library, since it's more or less just down the road.

"It’s the first of Haneke’s film I saw. When we were in film school, Sean [Durkin] called me and said, "You've got to see this film." We went to the NYU library and he first showed me two scenes: the one on the train where Juliette Binoche gets spit on and the red room scene where she gets directed off screen by Haneke. It was one of these moments where I had been waiting to see a film language that really spoke to me and this film had it, it made so much sense to me. From there I fell in love with Haneke."

"The Dreams in the Witch House," gathered together here with more than twenty other tales of terror, exemplifies H. P. Lovecraft's primacy among twentieth-century American horror writers. greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale. (Stephen King)
