This book, a true life story, is written in a way that reads like fiction and engages from the beginning. It is short and easy to read but full of valuable lessons to the reader of what jail is like and what it feels like to both have messed up and hurt those you love as well as successfully navigated recovery. There is some “mature content” (drug use, language, lesbianism) but it isn’t gratuitous. Ms. Jenkins book is as funny, touching, and insightful as her blog, “Juggling The Jenkins”.

In a way, this is a bittersweet melancholy one. What with Morgan running for his life and going to Harry to protect him. Irony abounds. Throughout the book I thought "I'll talk about this... Mention that." However, now that it is time for the review... I think to many spoilers. So, at book 11 it shouldn't surprise that Harry has to relearn some lessons mostly because he has to acknowledge that people grow whether in age and/or by wisdom.

Continuation of The One and Only Ivan
The One and Only Bob follows Bob, the dog who is friends with the gorilla Ivan from The One and Only Ivan. While it is must read if you loved Ivan, I found this one falling a little short of Ivan. That being said, the writing style is fantastic with an easy flow that will keep you turning pages. Just like Ivan, Bob teaches valuable life lessons that are good for anyone, at any age.
