I went in to see Morbius with an open mind and not listening to what everyone was saying with the hope that that the movie would be good.

Sadly I was disappointed, Morbius felt lacklustre and always felt like it was not going anywhere, OK it may be an origins movie, but damn I found it very boring.

Even the credits scenes seemed to be bolted on at the last moment in a hope to bring Morbius into the MCU.

"The next one is a little-known obscure album called Hunky Dory! I grew up listening to David Bowie's songs in the background. I knew he existed and knew his hits and whatnot. I had the same thing with The Beatles. When I was 17 I saw that my dad had Hunky Dory and I realised that I had never really actually listened properly to David Bowie. I thought of him as a pop star – which he is – but he's obviously a lot more than that. I remember putting it on and listening to it in the lounge and actually thinking it was almost too much – it was a collection of songs that were all so good that it was too much to digest. It absolutely blew my mind at how mercurial he was on one record. He wasn't writing songs just about love, but about all these crazy, bizarre ideas. It contained really weirdly strange anthems that weren't like anything I'd heard. I remember really trying to piece together who David Bowie was in his entirety, as opposed to him just being that guy who dresses up like a woman sometimes and was a pop star, and beginning to understand the gravity of how talented he was. I remember listening to the song 'Andy Warhol' over and over and over again and thinking it was the best song I had ever heard in my life and then trying to learn it on guitar. So, it was the moment of realising, ""Oh my god, David Bowie!"" but there is no real point in me explaining why it is such a good album. It's obvious."

I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of opera, but Diva held me in its thrall from the off. Maria Callas’ life was fascinating: she was dramatic, striking, dedicated and vulnerable. Her mother had exploited her voice in Nazi-occupied Greece, which Maria never forgave her for, and she cuts her off when she makes it big. But even though Callas makes out that she can’t be used again for other’s financial gain, it does happen.

Then she meets Aristotle Onassis - the love of her life. This relationship must have looked so romantic at the time, and it seems that Maria thought so. She believed that Onassis saw her for who she really was. I thought this was where her vulnerability was really brought to the fore - and as she lets her guard down, he does the inevitable and lets her down.

I really liked the way this was set out: Callas’ career was interspersed with flashbacks of her early life, and as I was listening to the audiobook there were excerpts from songs (arias?)in between chapters. I actually headed to Spotify to listen to more after listening to a couple of these (there’s a playlist linked to the book: Diva by Daisy Goodwin). The narrator, Lorelei King made for an excellent Maria Callas as well as ‘just’ a narrator. She was very convincing.

I was completely sucked in to Maria Callas’ life whilst I was listening to this. She was quite some woman, and she was brought to life whilst I listened. My only complaint is that it ended too soon!

Beautiful music
Her best yet
While I've like many Adele songs in the past, I've never really liked enough of them on one albumn to buy it until now. This one doesn't have a bad one on it. Her music is beautiful and haunting and fun all at the same time. Best part for me though is that this is music that both the kids and I like so we can all enjoy listening together. Not all artists can cross generations like she can.

Complex, interesting requires careful reading
An excellent journey into the origins of the universe and what makes human beings so unique within it. It's always been a fascinating concept, and it's interesting because Brian Cox attempts to make the topic more accessible to those less inclined to read science based books.

However, there are still complex theories and formulas discussed so I'd suggest reading and absorbing the information than listening and losing focus. Better still, watch the documentary when it is aired on TV.
