Be Our Guest
Beauty and the Beast- such a classic, with excellent songs like.."Belle", "Gaston", "Something There", "Be Our Guest" and "Beauty and the Beast".

The plot: An arrogant young prince (Robby Benson) and his castle's servants fall under the spell of a wicked enchantress, who turns him into the hideous Beast until he learns to love and be loved in return. The spirited, headstrong village girl Belle (Paige O'Hara) enters the Beast's castle after he imprisons her father Maurice (Rex Everhart). With the help of his enchanted servants, including the matronly Mrs. Potts (Angela Lansbury), Belle begins to draw the cold-hearted Beast out of his isolation.

Such a classic movie than their had to remake it. Grr. Like why disney, oh yea i know why $$$. What next a live action of "The Brave Little Toaster".

"The last one I have to say this because I heard they’re doing the live action for it, and it’s Mulan. I grew up watching, obviously, the Disney movie Mulan. That was [a different kind of] Disney princess because technically she wasn’t a princess, she was a warrior. At a very young age — something about her being able to keep up with the men, and be one of the boys, and be respected for that in the end was one of the coolest things to see — and also the sacrifice for her family. I come from a very big family and my family’s everything to me. Now watching it, it’s like a movie that gives me goosebumps still, and I get very emotional watching it because it just reminds me a lot of myself I guess."

To say that I was nervous to watch this adaptation would be a huge understatement. I was concerned that Disney was going to attempt to remake the magic of the animated original, and the last thing I wanted to watch was that failed attempt.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was no effort made to recreate the original in live action form. While the story remained primarily intact, the execution and performances were both great in their own rite without attempting to ride the coat tails of the original. All the while, Disney was actually able to pay tasteful homage to the original without doing so distastefully.

Nice little movie. Will Smith actually did very well as the genie, which he found a way to make completely separate and original from the Robin Williams adaptation.

The Genie of the disappointing live action reboot
Ok first off, I'm not saying the acting was awful but felt rugged, most of the casting choices seemed random, like picked out of a hat random & will smith as genie, although it he was entertaining, I couldn't look past his accent - having a genie with a street wise way of speaking after being Trapped for several lifetimes just couldn't be ignored (In my case that is).

The movie could've been a little more open to including previously used idea's, like talking animals...I mean it is only a movie after all an it would've helped recapture the magic.

Anyway, the overall outcome wasn't terrible just seemed to miss it's intended target, but I have seen worse.
