Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated Full Circle: From Hollywood to Real Life and Back Again in Books

I wanted so badly to fall in love with Andrea Barber's autobiography, but I just couldn't. It wasn't so much of a bad read. It was just very slow paced and boring. It just feels like someone rambling on and on. You know when someone talks to you and won't shut up about something, but they go on and on. It kind of felt like that. Sometimes I felt like I was getting preached at about how to be happy. While I admired Barber's strength to overcome her anxiety, I just felt like there wasn't much happening. Nothing special really stuck out. However, the book does get good about three quarters of the way in. From there, it really held my attention as Barber explains about being on Fuller House and her cast mates. This is a very uplifting autobiography, but I just didn't fall in love with it. It is well written word wise though.

Well designed but I just didn't get into it.
I love the look and the feel of this game. I completely admire the way they keep people hooked and and playing. It is interesting that with it being a Warcraft/Blizzard game that I am not fanboy all over it but... I just don't dig it.
The card game style has just never grabbed me. Give it a shot and see if you like for me it doesn't work.

Purple Phoenix Games (2266 KP) rated Koala Capers in Tabletop Games
Jun 18, 2019 (Updated Mar 10, 2020)
The Kids Table series from Purple Phoenix Games seeks to lightly explore games that are focused toward children and families. We will do our best to give some good insight, but not bog your down with the millions of rules…
Koala Capers is a silly dice and pattern recognition game that kids way younger than 3 years old can play; I have played it with my 2 year old – for like 5 minutes.
The game comes in a non-conforming, but fun, box that we used as a dice tray. You roll the dice, try to find an outfit card that matches what you rolled and place the new outfit on your koala card (the one shown below is currently naked). If you roll underpants, you make your koala naked and try again. If you roll a star it’s wild and you can choose any outfit you like.
This is an easy winner. It has very few components, very few rules, and has lots of silliness in it – especially when you roll the undies. Kids love when adults lose. My boy really likes it, and it has been his first choice from his small collection lately.
Give it a try if you want to introduce your children or family into dice rolling, customizing characters, light set collection, learning patterns, and also possibly having to reconstruct after rolling poorly. We like it a lot, for what it is.

James Koppert (2698 KP) rated The Woman Who Wanted More in Books

I'm glad I got to review it. I wanted more
When this was sent to me I thought, why the hell has this been sent to me, ME, to review. A book most definitely in that category of 'Clit Lit'. It's a book about women and love and stuff, so again, why me? Well it does have two things I really like in it; food and old people. So I gave it a go and did I like it? Well yes actually. This is a dear little book full of real charm and that rare delight of real feeling when you read it. Kate, a nearly forty, very likeable character is in a decentish job with a boyfriend she is head over heals for but whose friends wish she was just over for. Enter Cecily, a grumpy old git who you can tell as soon as she opens her nasty little mouth and sharpens her wit, that you are going to love her and you do. These two ladies are delightful characters and you do want to spend time with them so this bloke right here did keep reading and looking forward to the next spare half an hour to continue their journey. This is a book about food ultimately but its about food as a metaphor and food as an accomplishment for life. And like some foods there is something just very comforting reading this novel, it is warm and charming even in the sad and tender moments. I really enjoyed this book and am now hoping they turn it into one of those great British rom coms that you shouldn't like but do.

What the...? You can't just leave it on a big cliffhanger like that!? I need answers! Who offed the biatch? And what the heck happened while you were off in DC? What did Reed do? And what's going on with a certain character?
I am so falling in love with this messed up family. They are slowly turning things around and becoming the single unit they used to be before Maria left them.
Off to get book 3!
