My dad won’t stop watching this movie

I saw it when I first came out. Good date movie, but my boyfriend and I agreed that while the music is very good, it does not fit the time period of the story being told. Especailly the song “Never Enough”, the renoun surrounding the greatest soprano in Europe and she’s singing a simplistic pop ballad when she should be singing an aria. I love Pasek and Paul, and I think the cinematography is amazing and I love the blocking in the song between Efron and Jackman. But the verisimilitude was not there because of the incongruity of the songs and the story.

Vee and Cam have a love story that takes the long way round. High school sweethearts until it all goes wrong. Years later they find themselves trapped on a tour bus together. Forced to confront the past and their feelings all while trying to be civil.
I adored this book and the raw emotions it brought out. It wasn't just your typical love story where everything goes right the first time. This took time, guts, and a bit of heartbreak to get to the end. The songs and lyrics fit and made you a part of their world.
Perfect for fans of music, romance, and alternating view points.
