Make That a Table for Seven is a cute story about two bear cubs who don’t have a family. It takes a lot of courage for the oldest bear to knock on a neighbor-bear family’s door and ask if he and his sister can live with them, but when he does, he is greeted with kindness, love, and assurance. This is a great story illustrating adoption—both literally and spiritually.
The only downside is that there are a lot of words on each page, so it may be hard for a younger kid to listen to it being read. Kids have pretty short attention spans.
All in all however, Make That a Table for Seven is a great story with very cute child-friendly illustrations and an easy to follow story.
Recommendation: Ages 4-6

I have read a lot of Kristin Hannah's books, loved them all, and this one definitely did not disappoint.
This book was well written, and the flow of the story was very satisfying. It's a wonderful, magical story about the love between several pairs/groups: mother and child, father and child, two sisters, and some long-time friends. There was just enough mystery to keep me intrigued and engrossed in the story, and Julia's relationships were well-crafted and beautifully developed.
I did get into the story a little slower than most of her books, I think because the character development was a bit more complicated than others - but I'm OK with that. Once I got into it, it was hard to stop! It's definitely a great romantic beach read and a wonderful escape from reality that I enjoyed very much.

Alien Invasion or family issues
I loved the Orson Weller radio drama of War of the Worlds...I even like the 1953 take on the story; but this movie. This story doesn't need a Tom Cruise type star because they are going to want the movie focused on them. Like this one. This is a story about alien invasion, not about a dead beat dad. I know the human element has to be in something like this but not in this fashion. I thought this was a very poor interpraraton of War of the Worlds. I would love to see this movie done very closely to the radio drama. That would make a good movie. As for the Tom Cruise version....it needs a heat ray taken to it and wiped off the face of the Earth.

Odd
The beginning was fun and interesting, but the story started to stall and get sort of odd. The ending was both more climactic than the genre really calls for, and oddly anticlimactic at the same time.
Usually I like books of this type but the mix (almost like it was foreshadowing that it was going to change wildly into a fantasy or sci-if story at any minute) was so odd and kept me wondering so much about where the story was going that it detracted from my enjoyment.
I love the author’s voice, but the climax felt completely at odds with the rest of the mood set.
I do have to say that I thought a lot about the story in the week after I finished it, and it has definitely peaked my interest in micro-biology.

Such a good story!
When I started reading this book I immediately realized I had already read the first book in this series. This book can totally be read as a stand alone. This continuation of Natalie and Lucas's story, I think it is one of the best I've read in a while. Both Natalie and Lucas have to learn the art of communication, dealing with emotions, and over coming obstacles of change.
I give this story 5 out of 5 stars for the unique and unexpected twists, the overcoming spirits that the characters display, and the great story line.
I love Beth Wiseman's stories and this one did not disappoint, just leaves you wanting more.
