Fruit Bat (42 KP) rated The Toy Makers in Books
Mar 1, 2018
Absolutely amazing the author brings back memories the magical feeling of your childhood when you used visit the big toy stores at Christmas. He also gives the reader a beautiful love story and shows the tragedy of War. I would recommend this book as must read for 2018 and I for one will definitely be reading it again.

Lirahlu (37 KP) rated The Burning Sky (The Elemental Trilogy, #1) in Books
Mar 19, 2018
For some reason Sherry Thomas has the ability to take stories you think will be boring and turn them into an entirely new and entertaining premise. Aspects of the Burning Sky were predictable but they were set in a world kept the reader intrigued and wanting to know more.

Firstly, that continuous shot at Dunkirk beach is fantastic. I love everything Keira Knightly is in, and her and James McAvoy are perfect together (that library scene...). The acting is brilliant, and the story is so good on film (book-not so much).
This film always makes me cry, it softens my little stone, black heart.

I adored this short story and the cover is incredible! I love fairy tales and legends so this was well and truly perfect for my style.
Such stunning, vivid imagery. It reminded me of Gaiman's writing throughout, beautiful and terrifying all at the same time.

MissCagey (2652 KP) rated Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) in Movies
Jun 13, 2018
Does exactly what it says on the tin! We all know what happens in the Jurassic Park franchise and this is nothing really different, dinosaurs chasing people and killing them off. I thought the story line was pretty good and who doesn't love it when the bad guys meet a grisly end?! All in all it was very entertaining.
I really LOVED this book. I've been on a poetry/verse style kick lately so this caught my eye immediately. The flow of the story worked really well and the illustrations added a lot to it. I learned a lot, and I found it hard to put down. I would love to see more like this.

Thrilling, But confusing
Being a huge fan of the archie comics, i love this show, its thrilling and it keeps me on my toes. But with the switch in characters pov's it can get confusing sometimes on what the main idea of the season is to be about.

Love every minute
I’m not usually a watcher of musicals, unless my granddaughter is over, but I am very glad I watched this movie. The characters were lovable, the storyline was moving, and the songs were fantastic.

Cori June (3033 KP) rated Empire of Ivory (Temeraire #4) in Books
Nov 4, 2019
Poor Laurence and Temeraire are in the thick of it again. this amazing story that deals with loyalty and betrayal will make you think and examine everything you thought you knew. I love how turn of the century England is portrayed. And we get to see more angry Laurence. Africa will hold many surprises and hopefully a cure.
