starwarsluvr (236 KP) rated The Legacy of Fear: Horror at the Lake (A Vampire Tale #1) in Books
Jan 30, 2018
I loved how this was horror and still had some dark humor to it. The characters and plot were amazing.. I love horror but it's always hard to find a really well written horror story and this one was definently well written. I loved that it kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen and I felt like I had to keep reading until it was finished. I am very glad the author chose me to read this and I cannot wait to read more by this author. Amazing

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2273 KP) rated Rolling Thunder (John Ceepak Mystery, #6) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Ceepak and Danny are back on the beat in the resort town of Sea Haven, New Jersey! This go around, a woman dies on the first run of the town's new wooden roller coaster. It seems like nothing suspicious until a definitely murdered woman is found. Is there a connection? I love these characters, so it's always great to spend time with them. The story was entertaining with some nice twists and a nail bitter of an ending.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2273 KP) rated You've Got Murder (Turing Hopper, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Turing Hopper is the first sentient Artificial Intelligence Personality. The only person who knows the truth is her creator, but when he goes missing, Turing does what she can to track him down, pulling in two additional humans to be her legs.
The creativity in this book is wonderful. Turing is such a human character you can't help but love her, and the author makes great use of the characters to tell an unique story. Definitely worth tracking down.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2273 KP) rated The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax (Mrs. Pollifax, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Seeking to give her life meaning, widowed Mrs. Pollifax applies to be a spy with the CIA. She's sent on a simple currier assignment for Carstairs, but things go wrong and she is kidnapped. Can she use her wits to escape? The story is highly improbable, but I absolutely fell in love. The final third still make me turn pages quickly even though I remember all the twists from the first time it kept me up all night to finish.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2273 KP) rated Going to the Bad (Lilly Hawkins, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Lilly Hawkins is manning the news desk as KJAY when she learns there's been a shooting at her house. She rushes there to find her uncle is the victim. While he fights for his life, she tries to figure out who shot him. What secret from his past has resurfaced? I love the characters, and I felt them grow even more here. And the story kept me turning pages to see what the next twist would be.

Dean (6927 KP) rated The Expendables (2010) in Movies
Feb 12, 2018
A film with all the main action stars of the 80's, 90's and 00's!! Pity Bruce Willis and Arnold didn't have bigger roles than just cameos. It is high octane stuff, with some great fights, stunts, explosions, good chase scene and one loud bad ass gun!!! Yes the story is simple and weak, just like all the old action films. It's kinda like a mix of Commando with the Magnificent seven! If you like pure action you will love it, if you don't you won't! Great cast though and rumours of a sequel already!

Dean (6927 KP) rated The Notebook (2004) in Movies
Jun 20, 2018
Amazing film
Don't be put off thinking this is just another cheesey chick flick, that would be an unjust insult. This is a very well made film with a great story of true love standing the test of time. The acting, score, cinematography and the 40's theme costumes and sets really show this is a very well produced film. It might be obvious from early on what is going to happen but it doesn't stop the journey being any less fun. If you liked the romance side of Titanic and Pearl Harbour you will like this a lot.

Danny (187 KP) rated Cloak & Dagger in TV
Aug 12, 2018 (Updated Aug 12, 2018)
Interesting twist on the origins (1 more)
Good stoty
Deviated quite a bit from the comic origins (1 more)
Not up to the high standard we’ve come to enjoy from Marvel shows
Hit&miss
Contains spoilers, click to show
Okay so they avoided the fact that Cloak & Dagger got powers from bad drugs... shame as it would’ve finally left the door open for Sentry.
The story itself wasn’t that bad. Quite a few good twists, a couple of bad guys you’ll love to hate (not quite to Joffery’s level).
Just didn’t have the same kick as Netflix gives its Marvel series... that said, I did enjoy it...

Iris lives a life with everything orderly and controlled. An anonymous gift turns out to be a sick piece of artwork which leads Iris into danger. Can a neighbor and his dog help her find love, comfort, and the ability to trust again?
As with the first book in the Planted series, this is more than just a book of mystery and romance. The underlining story has to do with finding faith, strength, understanding, and support while gaining a deeper relationship with God and his teachings.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Alicia S (193 KP) rated Entangled (Angel's Halo MC, #2) in Books
Sep 28, 2018
Flew right through another one! LOVING this series and I can't finish one fast enough to get to the next. :) One of my favorite aspects of this book is that we get to follow everyone's story... and I'm loving every one of them!? These are some tough MC's guys, yet they all have a genuine soft spot for the women in their lives and while they all struggle with their own relationship drama, you know they are genuine and you can have faith that all will work out. One day read. LOVE this series- Highly recommended!! Onto Book #3!!
