Charlotte (184 KP) rated In Daylight and Darkness (Worldwalkers #1) in Books

An interesting start to the Worldwalkers series.
Years of medication and therapy to get over an imaginary friend and world go out the window when Coran returns.
Coran, the "imaginary" friend wants to protect Kate, which is so sweet considering the years Kate has denied his existance.
It adds more depth to the story and keeps you thinking throughout. And I really feel for kate and Coran, both on opposite sides, so to speak.
A massive plus side for me is that this is the start of a series and I do love a good series!

Me, Myself and Di is a quirky, comical and well-produced British comedy with a huge ensemble cast including James Lance (Northern Soul, Bronson, Marie Antoinette, Bel Ami), Lucy Pinder (The Royals, Age of Kill), Will Mellor (Two Pint of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Line of Duty), Tyger Drew-Honey (Cuckoo, Outnumbered), Larry Lamb (EastEnders, The Hatton Garden Job), Marek Oravec (Captain America: The First Avenger), Wim Snape (The Full Monty, Coronation Street) and rising star Katy Clayton (Casualty, Shameless), Me, Myself & Di is a fun, feel-good and uplifting love story about being true to yourself.

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated RoboCop (2014) in Movies
Nov 2, 2021 (Updated Nov 3, 2021)
The 80s were a great time for movies and in particular a very violent and at some times black humoured movie from director Paul Verhoeven, yes folks, I'm talking about the original RoboCop.
It's the film that a lot of us still love today, with its story of a good cop (Peter Weller) who is murdered by criminals, in possibly one of the most gruesome cop killings in a movie in the 80s, who is then pieced back together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg, who is tormented by the memory of his death and in turn goes out for revenge.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From Blackadder to Call the Midwife, from PG Tips to Harry Potter, Miriam Margolyes is Britain's favourite national treasure -- this is (at last) her extraordinary life story and it's well worth the wait.
She is a true gem a British treasure. I loved reading this her life is full of funny stories and such a beautiful memories. She has always been an honest open person when we watch her interviews I absolutely love watching her on Graham Norton. Such a genuinely beautiful woman.

Dean (6927 KP) rated A Haunting in Venice (2023) in Movies

Ok for Whodunit fans
I love Murder Mysteries and a fan of Agatha Christie stories. I've not seen a film or Tv adaptation of this cover of the "Hallowe'en Party" story. It's different with the Ghost and spiritual angle on proceedings. A nice setting in a creepy house in Venice. The summing up seemed to come rather abruptly and a couple of things not really that well explained as to how they were worked out. There's not much for viewers to go by to work it out. One for Whodunit fans mainly.

Molly J (Cover To Cover Cafe) (106 KP) rated Lydia, Woman of Philippi in Books
Feb 27, 2019
I am a picky reader when it comes to Biblical fiction. I've found very few authors who captivate me completely with the Biblical fiction. Diana Wallis Taylor is one of those few authors. When I sit down to Ms. Taylor's work, I know that I can prepare myself for the powerful messages within, I can prepare myself for the feeling as if I am right there in the middle of some of the most incredible happenings in the Bible. That's how good her writing style is.
With Lydia, I got just that. Taken from the book of Acts and Lydia's story, we learn all about the wonderful woman of the color purple. The things she endured with a father who didn't care for the fact that she chose her mother's religion, and with an arranged marriage.....it just really tugged at my heart and made me fall in love! I loved the way she was chiseled so vividly. The way she overcame her issues, and her determination to stand tall despite it all, and the way her heart opened up after meeting Paul....it all really just enveloped me and took me on a ride that I won't soon forget!
This is definitely a 4 star worthy Biblical novel. If you love learning about the Bible in interesting ways, if you want a deeper relationship with reading and with God, then Ms. Taylor's Lydia is one you don't want to miss. You'll be taken to the center of the story, captivated completely, and fall in love with the Biblical accounts in a whole new way. I know I did! I can't wait to read another amazing, moving, and heart twisting story from the talented work of Diana Wallis Taylor.

Whatchareadin (174 KP) rated Always in Books

Kailey Cain is a reporter for the Herald in Seattle. She is engaged to Ryan Winston who is just about the perfect guy. One night while as they are leaving a restaurant after having a nice dinner, she gives her leftovers to a homeless man who looks strangely familiar. Soon she discovers the homeless man is Cade McAllister her estranged ex-boyfriend, but he doesn't recognize her as easily. What happened to him over the past ten years? Kailey is determined to find out, but at what cost.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Ballantine books for the opportunity to read and review this book Always, was a quick read that I found hard to put down. I had to know what was going to happen next. It captivated me from the beginning and held my attention throughout. This is not your typical love story and some of the story was a bit predictable, but I thought there was going to be a villain in the story. What would you do if your boyfriend seemed to just vanish off the face of the earth and then ten years later, here he is, homeless and very unclear of exactly who he is and how he got to be in this position. Would you risk your current relationship to save this other person who had no one else that could help him?
What a difficult decision forKailey to have to make. Everyone in her life is very supportive of the idea of her helping Cade including her fiancee, Ryan. But how much is going to be able to take and understand before it all becomes too much. You can feel for everyone involved in this situation, that it's messy and nearly impossible to figure out. But love always conquers all right and the love for the right man will shine through and guide Kailey to the right decision.
This is a great romantic book for all.
