Nice fresh movie
Contains spoilers, click to show
Shang Chi is a breath of fresh air in MCU films. It also shows its establishment of new set of heroes injucting into MCU after Avengers : End Game. There's Eternals slated to release in couple of months which again has new super heroes, and post credits suggest that Shang chi is linked to Doctor Strange, so you will be finding hints in upcoming spiderman and Dr strange.
Simu Liu has acted smoothly in his role and movie really impressed me in most parts.
Looking forward for other flicks down the line

Ant-Man is so much damn fun...
It has a great cast, who all share great chemistry, it has some decent and different action scenes, it's frequently funny (the Thomas the Tank Engine crash is iconic by this point), it deals with the Scott Lang Ant-Man whilst providing a satisfactory backstory for Hank Pym, it's a damn good heist movie, and above all, it's its own thing, even if it does have a scene connecting it to the larger MCU.
It's not perfect - once again another MCU film suffers from an expendable villain, a lot of the plot is just Iron Man (genius scientist gets ousted from his company by an angry bald white man who then tries to kill him whilst wearing a variant of his own super suit), but if you can manage to mute that nagging part of your brain, you'll find an intelligent and hugely entertaining heist adventure, all wrapped up in an MCU filter. It's great.

MCU
Another one of the heroes introduced into the MCU who will be a part of the Avengers. Thor was cast perfectly and I find it cool that Noah Synderguard of the Ny Mets could fill in as double if really needed lol. The story answers a lot of questions espically about the Teseract that we learn of in the first Captain America movie. I love each person who was cast in this movie and they all played them to a T. S.H.I.E.L.D is better reprsented in this movie and we learn much ore about them and about another avenger who has very small part.

Small but perfectly formed
This film feels like it's on a slightly smaller scale than the recent MCU entries which is pretty apt given its hero. Its skirts around the bigger stories and characters of the other films but 100% delivers in it's own right. It's an origin story like most you've seen before but with that magic marvel touch that gives you the right amount of excitement, emotion and a new style of comedy for the MCU.
Yellow jacket may not be the most menacing villain you meet but he doesn't have to be. You couldn't put a rookie Ant Man up against Thanos and expect a happy ending.

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated Black Widow (2021) in Movies
Oct 12, 2021 (Updated Nov 2, 2021)
Director Cate Shortland (Lore, Somersault) has certainly done a good job with Black Widow and it is going to be interesting to see where we go from here in the MCU and how the characters from this movie will fit in with the rest of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yes, we may already know the fate of Natasha Romanoff but there is more to come from Black Widow and after the post-credits sequence that brings in a character from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier it’s looking like we have much more to excite us in the big screen from the MCU.
Awix (3310 KP) rated Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) in Movies
Jul 3, 2019 (Updated Jul 3, 2019)
Seventh Spider-Man movie gets off to a slightly wobbly start, almost seeming to have been slipped a real hospital pass by Endgame: clearly it feels obliged to address the rather messy state of the MCU, in addition to making a big fuss about being a proper MCU film (much more than the non-Sony MCU films do). However, once Spider-Man and his moderately amazing friends head off to Europe the film perks up considerably, especially with the appearance of Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio (Gyllenhaal is very good value).
The film is genuinely funny and benefits a lot from a clever plot - the problem is that the nature of the plot is extremely guessable, even if you're only passingly familiar with the comics. Still, good jokes, nice performances, and the best Tower Bridge-based VFX sequence since Gorgo in 1961. I think it would be unwise to try and intuit the whole future direction of the Marvel project from this one film, but this is still good (if slightly uneven) fun.

This series of comics focuses on the 'red in my ledger' aspect of Black Widow, as was mentioned in the MCU film, The Avengers. Which was a good direction to go to get people interested in a Black Widow comic. Overall, a great opening volume of the series.
