This is the first book that I have read by Lisa Unger. There were a lot of characters in this book. A couple that I think that could have been left out of the book.

Everyone lives in a quiet little town outside of New York City called The Hollows. Most of the people in that town grew up there and came back to live their lives and raise their families.
Jones Cooper: the head detective of The Hollows police department
Maggie Cooper: His wife and local shrink
Ricky Cooper: Their son
Charlene Murray: Ricky's Girlfriend
Elizabeth: Maggie's mother and former principal of Hollows High School.
Travis Crosby: Friend to Jones since High school and police officer
Marshall Crosby: Travis's son and town misfit
These are the main characters of this story.
When a local teenager goes missing(or ran away) the whole town gets together. This missing girl brings up a past that connects all the current suspects in way that no one would expect. This has all happened before, but will the outcome be the same.

Slow to suck you in, but then seriously moving
This book was so hard for me to get into. I restarted it four times - I'm confident that was a result of my self inflicted expectations.

The Crooked Saints are not the traditional fictional characters we have grown to expect from Maggie - they are instead a reflection, a little bit from each of us. They are the struggles that we each experience, and for some of us the self-actualization that helps us move successfully through life.

I thought that once I brought it home, I'd read this book in just a few hours. I was so excited by this prospect, that the fiction of my assumption actually shocked me. I was somewhat disappointed in myself for my delay, but as I went on to learn - some miracles take longer than others.

I love this book. I will place it with my favorites and go back whenever I need a reminder about the type of person I'd like to be.

The Best One
He Will Find You and Kill You
Taken- is a excellent action packed thriller. Liam Neeson is excellent in this.

The plot: Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson), a former government operative, is trying to reconnect with his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). Then his worst fears become real when sex slavers abduct Kim and her friend shortly after they arrive in Paris for vacation. With just four days until Kim will be auctioned off, Bryan must call on every skill he learned in black ops to rescue her.

Its the best one out of the trilogy, should of there been 2 more sequels, no. But $$$.

Intresting fact: Jeff Bridges was first cast as Bryan Mills, but after he dropped out of the project, Liam Neeson accepted the part, desiring to play a more physically demanding role than he was used to. Neeson at first thought the film to be no more than a "little side road" for his career, expecting it to be released directly to video.

Only watch this one.

Good and bad
The Walking Dead has gone in an odd direction in the last series and this. I wasn't a fan of the big time jump last series and we have a lot of back and forth in the time line this series. The return of Maggie at long last goes by barely unnoticed, with no real explanation of where she has been during all this time. It carries on like she has never been away. There are a few episodes towards the end that feature mainly on just one or two characters, mainly due to covid filming. A couple of these episodes weren't great. The one truly saving feature of the season was an origin story of Negan. This was one of the best episodes for many series starring opposite his wife in real life playing Lucille. So a real mixed bag, some great individual episodes but overall as a whole it feels a bit disconnected and disappointing. Hope the extended final series is better.
