ClareR (5667 KP) rated The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida in Books

Whilst they are away, Ryusei’s sister, Fumi, has an unexpected visitor who asks to stay with her for a while. Fumi is clearly in a vulnerable position after the death of Miwako (who had worked for her), because she says yes.
This was such an unexpected pleasure to read. It’s a very sad story, gently told: these are all grieving, vulnerable people. When it slips in to magical realism, it didn’t seem out of place or odd, in fact these parts really helped to explain what had happened to Miwako and developed the character of Fumi. I can’t believe that I haven’t heard of Clarissa Goenawan before, and I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for more of her books.
Many thanks to The Pigeonhole for serialising this book.

BookwormLea (3034 KP) rated The Lion King in Lyceum Theatre (London, United Kingdom) in Shows

I never thought it could get better. Until I saw the Lion King Musical. O.M.G. it was magical. There is no other way to describe it. The only thing that could have made it better, was if we had aisle seats on the floor because the animals walk down them to the stage and you can see y he crazy amazing costumes they have! But hakuna matata! Even from the grand circle it was so beautiful! The songs where 100% when they echoed throughout the building. I felt like I was on stage! And its probably not supposed to be, but I thought it was funnier watching Timon and Pumba being lugged around the stage and still having such hilarious dialogue. I will definitely go and see this one again when I'm in London and I recommend it to everyone! Lion King will never be the same afterwards, and that's a guarantee!

The Hunter ( The Realm book 2)
By Eve Langlais
Suzie and her twins tired of running from a violent ex, decide to settle down in sweet suburbia. But forget the quiet life, meet Hunter, Suzie's hot next door neighbor. Masquerading as a private eye, in truth he's a tracker from a magical realm on a quest to keep his world's existence secret. Little does he know that love has its sight on him. To survive a threat from Suzie's past and a predatory shapeshifter from the Realm, they will rely on the special skills that only the Hunter possesses. But will the Hunter allow himself to be caught for the sake of love?
I think everyone need a neighbour like a hunter oh my gosh was he a bit yummy! Yes I used the word yummy! I enjoyed getting a bit more from the realm but they never spend long enough in it! The kids were just so bloody adorable and I now need two dragon babies! This was a easy quick read and I really enjoyed it. Think more could have been made with the hunting and demise of the dragon but still a decent read.
