This is the first of the Compelled Chronicles and it starts with a bang! Dani is starting a new school and although she is nervous, it is not because of the usual new school reasons. The reason Dani is nervous is because she seems to have this ability that draws members of the opposite sex to her, before either making them head for the hills or become a stalker. She has no idea what's going on or why this happens, but she has learned how to live with it. The first boy she meets, Caine, seems immune to her 'charms' and Dani hopes that she has found herself the first male friend she has had in a long time. However, meeting Caine is something that starts off her journey into the unknown where she will have to fight the paranormal, and her life will be threatened simply 'because'.

This is a gripping and thrilling first instalment that ends on an amazing cliffhanger! Full of mystery and action, you are left with questions unanswered. I won't put the questions out here, you'll need to read the book for yourself, but I will say that you will immediately want to know more. Excellent start and definitely recommended.

HEART OF A WOLF is the first book in the Viking Wolves series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next book.

In this one, Kieran is visiting Iceland with his friend, Amanda, after finding his boyfriend cheating. After being given a beautiful carved wolf statue, he is whisked away to another time, where werewolves and fated mates are real. Will Kieran stay with Wulfric or will he return to his own time?

Paranormal and fated mates? We're talking insta-love then, right? Wrong! Wulfric feels a pull to Kieran but it's not insta-love and I loved that! As for Kieran, well, he's just a pathetic human so he won't have any idea anyway. These two together were amazing. I loved how Wulfric did small things for Kieran without making a big fuss, including cooking and training.

The inclusion of Norse mythology made this a great read, and I loved how the wood of Yggdrasil was used. This story had a multitude of characters I want to know more about and I'm really looking forward to the next book.

A great read and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

THE SEER is the third book in The Secret Tales series, and we begin with Claire making a speech at the London Society of Antiquarians and getting shot down in flames. Theseus is in the audience and is one of the few members who is actually interested in what she has to say.

What starts off as a list of commonalities - antiquities, friends, class, etc. - quickly becomes something more, and no one is surprised when Claire accompanies Theseus to Greece, as a companion for his sister, of course.

This was a well-written story, with exceptional details and history. I thoroughly enjoyed how Claire and Theo loved each other for who they were, rather than hoping for someone they weren't! Both practical and romantic, this story was a delight to read. I particularly liked the epilogue that brought it to the present day, and the reasoning behind who Cassie chose to work with.

All three sisters are now happily married, but I am happy to say I continued turning the pages once Claire and Theo's story was completed, and I can't wait for the series to continue. Definitely recommended by me.

I received this book this time last year as part of an exchange. I figured it is about time I write a review for it, yet I find myself struggling to come up with the right words to describe how I feel.

First I should mention that I love space. Despite this and the fact that I am actually a fairly intelligent human being, I have found that most books written about space, and physic in general, are written at such a high reading proficiency and are jargon heavy to the point that it is more chore to read than anything.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson brings his trademark humor to this novel as well as making it genuinely enjoyable to read. For being a non-fiction book, it certainly did not read like one. Regardless of whether you are a newbie when it comes to space or a seasoned fan, Death by Black Hole is consciously written with an easy almost conservational style that draws the reader in. I personally feel that it opens a lot of doors to those who want to learn but may have difficulty with the language.

I recommend Death by Black Hole to everyone. Literally everyone.

INTO THE CHURN is the first in a new same-name series by an amazing author. First, she has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in Fantasy, and now, she has done it again in Science Fiction.

The characters of Ezren and Foster are outstanding, quickly drawing you into their story and making you want all the good things for them. Their relationship is quick, but not rushed, and not without its arguments as they are both strong-minded and strong-willed. They are ably supported by a brilliant cast, all with their own unmistakable personalities, who share the pages so well.

From a death-defying race, to sabotage and murder, this story gives you enough to sink your teeth into, whilst leaving you wanting more. I have fallen in love with Belethea and hope to return to her skies soon!

This is high-class Science Fiction that just happens to have young MCs but can be enjoyed by readers of all ages. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME!!!
