One of my favourite manga series! I love it! I have the anime but I haven't finished watching all of it yet. When I first started this series I thought it was very original and that the characters were great. The plot is great, if I was going to knock any stars off it would be because of Riku and Risa...they can get a little annoying at times, but other than that....great series!!

The first volume of the manga series, Demon Slayer, is passable, but not great. The premise of the story was gone over quickly, then the main character was sent to train as a demon slayer, but not much was actually explained. I'm guessing volume 2 will seem more put together. I know that the anime is popular. Maybe the beginning of the story just didn't translate well onto paper in a short amount of pages.

Huh, what is it with the fact that just as something is about to happen between Kou and Futaba that they always get disturbed!

I have to admit I'm still loving this manga, the five of them as a group are quite cute with their friendship. I'm not too sure about the new guy and his interest in Futaba though. I'm still firmly Team Kou, even when he is being an arse.

Know what's better than reading Edgar Allen Poe's stories? Reading them in a Manga format!
Although I am still getting use to manga and the whole reading right to left system, it was a bit of a struggle to read, but honestly, it's so worth it.

The illustrations are beautifully drawn, freakishly eerie, and detailed to a level I wasn't expecting. I love graphic and these were definitely GRAPHIC, but I think that will work well for those who aren't into reading as much as seeing the story unfold.

I have always enjoyed "Tell-Tale Heart", "The Masque of the Red Death", and "The Cask of Amontillado", which is my favorite story, but what I enjoyed most about this version of the stories is that the images to words ratio is balanced perfectly. The spines of the plots are there, but the meat is presented differently, which made these stories both familiar and refreshing to me (as someone who adores Poe).

A huge thank you to Udon Entertainment and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this.

Alita: Battle Angel (2019) slices, dices and occasionally surprises.
Knowing nothing of the original Manga on which it’s based (the closest I can claim is that I quite enjoy the 2009 animated movie “Astro Boy”, which shares a surprising amount of story with this movie), “Alita: Battle Angel” still held a strong appeal thanks to the names behind and in front of the camera. That faith was well rewarded, with a kinetic, if lightweight, cyberpunk action popcorn flick...

I don't know about this one. I'm not sure if it has an anime series, or if it's just a manga, but this first volume leaves a lot to be desired. (I just looked, and I guess there is an anime series. I hope it's better!) It's fine in some parts, and in others, the story seems to just appear out of nowhere. It may have potential, but volume 2 won't be moved to the top of my reading pile.

I don't know anything about this series, so maybe it's an anime that makes more sense. However, as manga, only in the first volume, it's jumpy and confusing. It seems like it's written, assuming that the reader already knows about the world that the characters have been sent to. For me, it was confusing with not enough explanation at times. On a side note, this series is NOT for younger readers. There is a little nudity and some adult situations in it.

Well this certainly had a different storyline to the manga I've been reading lately. It was so interesting, especially when we saw them 10 years in the future, too. I even had a little cry myself at that point, they were all still so together, only missing a certain person, and the emotions were flying around.

I'm intrigued as to where this story will go. Will she manage to save him and maybe, hopefully, end up in a happy relationship with him herself?

I loved the manga and the original anime when it came out. The characters and story are great. Tohru herself is very sweet and you can't help but be drawn to her and her kindness. The remake of Fruits Basket is excellent. They did a fantastic job keeping the spirit of the original story and the emotional vibe of the main story and interactions with the characters. It was great to watch through it again and remember what made this series so special.

I wasn't entirely drawn into this.

I didn't quite understand the whole cutting his hair thing and him deciding then to want to date her but at the same time I wouldn't mind continuing on for a few volumes to see where it goes.

I wasn't as into the artwork as well but maybe that's because it's only my second look at a manga comic after finishing off my lovely Blue Spring Ride series, which I loved.

Off to start volume 2.
