"At the time the film first played theatrically in the U.S., I was invited to a private screening of the five-hour television version. As one who’s addicted to marriage, it was a devastating experience. The final segment in particular made an indelible impression, and I’ve watched it many times. My only regret is that Criterion didn’t include the alternative dubbed soundtrack, on which Liv Ullmann and Erland Josephson re-create their performances in English."

Anyone who loves classical music in general, and opera in particular, will have high hopes for a historical fiction book about the real woman who was Mozart's muse for the part of Suzanna in "Marriage of Figaro". So if you start reading it and it initially disappoints, keep going, because it certainly picks up nicely. While Hannah tries to deal with the double marriage proposals from Mike and Norman, a Hollywood production company comes to town. However, the director is a jerk, and he is murdered by a rigged prop gun. This is another fun book, although it was slow getting started.

You've got to try the title recipe. It's wonderful!
