This is one of those books I was SO distraught when it ended, I simply couldn't write my review!? Yet another masterpiece by Pepper - she amazes me every time! I have no words- this book is incredible- an absolute must read! Ive loved the Indebted Series since day one but hearing this offshoot of Kill's story was beyond an added bonus. Left me on that cliffhanger though- next book can't come fast enough!!

OH BOYYYYY - I haven't got the words for this, how does one person's brain come up with this. This book has been sitting on my shelf ever since I read Strange 18 months ago and always kept putting it off because the sheer size of it terrified me (it still does) but I just can't fathom how incredible this duology is I just wanted to savour every last word. WHAT A MASTERPIECE

"A rich and complex hypnogogic experience. Just where is this story taking place? In a dream, in memory . . . in the afterlife? Are these even questions that you can ask about a movie like this? Resnais structures the film in an ever looping pattern—everything turning in on itself again and again. The narrative seems to match the very patterns of how memory works. Every viewing reveals new layers of meaning previously unseen. A masterpiece."

"More recently celebrated for his masterpiece A Brief History of Seven Killings, James has created in this lesser known book a deeply personal view of Jamaican slavery. Set from a decidedly female perspective, The Book of Night Women takes you into domestic spaces, seduces you into understanding the very real conflicts and emotions behind charged and savage sexual encounters between slaves and masters, and dissects the negotiations of power within those relationships."

"A dark and unknown masterpiece of animated cinema: the adventures of a little girl taken in by circus freaks who make her suffer the worst atrocities – until our young heroine falls madly in love with the dwarf of the troupe. Its inventiveness is both incredibly visual and poetic, and Midori imprints its barbaric and desperate mark on your soul for a long time after seeing it. The nightmarish counterpart to Miyazaki’s films."

"For me, Auster’s masterpiece, and worth our waiting for. The dazzling scope of his inventiveness is breathtaking. Healthily nostalgic for us who are contemporary with his multiple central character. A compulsive read; I found it hard to put down, and I couldn’t get enough of it. I found the negative response to the book in some quarters quite astonishing, but as the frequent recipient of diametrically opposite reviews myself, I ought to know better!"

A great movie with great actors. Actors owned their characters. Isn't easy to believe that this is just a movie, and not some medieval documentary. A great story about a very important journey. Be prepared to embark on it with our characters, because it's very long. It has something to laugh about, something to cry about, something to think about. Story about trust, honor, friendship and love with a lot of fighting scenes.
