INTERSTELLAR ANGEL is the first book in the Astral Heat series and is a slow-start, slow-burn reverse harem science fiction story.

The prologue starts with a character called Zorin being held in a cell. He escapes (with help) and disappears until the last part of the book, but not before kissing one of our main males senseless. Kaia has run away from home to escape the chains of being a princess - and I mean that literally. Only now she has been caught and things are never going to be the same for her.

There was a lot to this that didn't make sense to me - the whole cyber aspect of it, if I'm honest. I use a computer but I don't know all about the innards, and that's what it felt like. Once I skimmed over those parts, it got better.

There are some very steamy moments in this but, as Kaia says, no penetration. There is also a lot of back and forth, life-mates, mating pheromones, protective instincts, you name it. Overall, it was a good read that I enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

Fair warning though - it does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared to wait to find out what happens next. The next book, Renegade Angel, is due for release in December.

STOLEN BY HER BEAR is the first book in the Black Ridge Bears series and we return to the universe of Eternal Mates, and the friendly Cougar Creek neighbours. You could read this by itself, but I personally would recommend you at least read Cougar Creek, just to get some idea of the backstories involved.

Saint is the Alpha of the Bear Pride, and he is none too impressed when they are woken from their hibernation by laughter, frolics, and shenanigans. Unfortunately for him, when he tries to ask nicely, the cougars are holding a grudge and refuse to keep the noise down. Saint's bear takes over and he kidnaps the mate of one of the cougars... except, she isn't!

I loved how Holly was just like her namesake. She was very prickly to begin with, but I couldn't exactly blame her! Saint doesn't want to be grumpy, but he has only just woken up, and his bear is very cranky. He is a sweetie though.

Returning to this universe is like slipping on a favourite pair of shoes. You can walk for miles in them and still feel like going for more. Saint and Holly make a perfect first pair for this series, and I can't wait to see where we go next. (I'm looking at you, Lowe... I think!)

A great, fun read that is definitely recommended by me.

Pepper's Journey Home (Grey River #9) by Maia Dylan
Pepper's Journey Home is the ninth book in the Grey River series, and we get to know Pepper in more detail. We met her briefly in Melaina's book, but this one quite rightly focuses on her. She is a very strong psychic, but with a strong sacrificial streak. She feels that she is broken after all she has been put through. Her mates just have to prove to her that she isn't.

Once again, this book is simply amazing. I love the interaction with the 'ladies' of the pack, and the conversation about buttercream filling had me laughing out loud. I also love when sarcasm flows straight off the page, which it did in this. Absolutely perfect. Those t-shirts that Faith makes... a small additional detail that makes each book great.

One thing I will say is that I didn't take to Tomas as much as I did Diego. And I don't know why. I liked him, don't get me wrong, but I guess Diego pushed more of my buttons! And I did feel slightly sorry for him (although he didn't seem concerned at the time) that Tomas got to get both 'firsts'. Seemed a bit greedy to me ;)

Anyway, that is by the by. To get technical now, there were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and this pace was smooth. With plenty of sexy bits, there is also a lot of character growth. Humour galore, action, sincerity - it's all here. Definitely recommended by me.

a really fitting end!
There comes along, once in a rare while, a book that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzie inside. A book that is far too stinking cute for its own good. A book that wraps up an ENTIRE series in so few pages. A book that is simply, brilliant.

This is book 7 in the Sin Bin series, and if you are just coming across this book, you should at the very LEAST read book two, The Caretaker, which is where Freddie and Taine meet. You should read them all, though!

Taine plucks up the courage to ask Freddie to marry him, but first he asks for Freddie's fathers permission. Since their first meeting wasn't exactly a tea party, Taine has reservations they won't chop him up and hide the pieces! But the fathers surprise him, and then Taine has to actually propose.

The proposal delivers, for me, the best line of the book!

Freddie asks, "why marriage?" Taine replies, "When they write our story after we're gone, it should read that I loved you more than anything else in the world. More than rugby. More than you love cheese. I want our names connected - intertwined. Legally. So no knobdobbers can claim I wasn't dedicated to you. So, will you marry me?"

The wedding plans are amusing, with all the previous characters taking part. So you can imagine what they all get up to! There is, of course, some messing about with food, cos ya'll know Ms Donovan's boys like to play with their food!

Bit that made me cry?? When all of Taine's rugby team mates perform the Haka at the wedding. That bit made me cry more that what happened on the honeymoon!

It's always sad to see a series end, but what a way to go!

5 stars

She doesn’t know anything about herself before the age of thirteen. Even the name she now answers to is not her own, but that isn’t the strangest thing about her.

Anne Smith was found on the steps of a homeless shelter with no memory of her life before that moment and a small tattoo-like mark in the center of her back that has grown and changed with each new moon. It’s been almost fifteen years, and the now the mark covers almost every inch of skin on her back.

With good reason, it’s impossible for her to let anyone in, to let anyone get close. Who would believe that her mark burns itself into her skin every twenty-eight days, leaving it larger than before? But, what if there was not only someone who believes her but has the answers to the questions that she desperately wants to ask? Would she finally be able to let people in?

The mark is almost complete. What will happen when there’s no more room left to grow?

Curse Marked is the first story in a medium-burn reverse harem series. Due to strong language and sexual situations, it is recommended for 18+.

I loved this book! I love the whole story! It's non stop action and so easy to follow and read in a good way. From Emelia finding her Uncle, his boyfriend to learning who she is and what she can do. Finding out her powers are so strong from the Dragon inside and the caster. I love her two mates although we hardly know Ronan yet I'm looking forward to getting to know him.
Finding her mother and the truth hoping she can form sort of relationship with her in future books.
