"When I went on my first non parent holiday to Skegness with my mates, this was the soundtrack. We were in a nightclub and 'Go Buddy Go' came on and we were bouncing off the walls. I mean, the Stranglers sounded like the Doors; they were about as punk rock as Genesis, they jumped on the bandwagon. I saw pictures of them from six months before and they were wearing flares, for gods sake! But they were a great band, it didn't matter. They outlived punk. They were making outrageously different music - sometimes limitations create great music. 'Down In The Sewer' - it was great, the bass sound was insane. It did the same thing to my heart as Ian Drury 'New Boots and Panties'; it was just bloody brilliant. I loved it all. That Stranglers record is dark and exciting and weird. A lot of my choices here are a bit off kilter, actually. Indie movies as opposed to Hollywood blockbusters."

I received an ARC edition of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

As the title says, this is book 2 in the Eternal Mates series and as such I recommend reading Kissed by a Dark Prince first, although this is not altogether necessary.

A lunar month has passed since the end of Book 1 and during that time Sable has been dreaming of King Thorne but keeps telling herself that she isn't interested. She is aiming to be Commander in Archangel and is determined to make the mission to help King Thorne a success - but only for career options, of course! Thorne has also been dreaming of Sable and knows that she is his fated female but is at a loss on how to proceed. During which time he is also trying to find a way to stop his kingdom from being overrun and how to improve his subjects' lives (if they survive the coming battle).

Felicity Heaton has written another fantastic series that you can lose yourself in. There are aspects of most characters that you can either relate to or admire... and trust me, I did a lot of admiring of Thorne! But with elves, werewolves, dragons and vampires there is someone there to interest everyone. And I just have to say that I love how the Vampire Erotique Theatre makes a show (another fantastic series if you haven't read it yet).

This book has everything from shapeshifters, vampires, demons (obviously) to war, battles, portals and angels. It is a book to immerse yourself in and not come up for air until you've finished it. Claimed by a Demon King is smoking hot and if Thorne is inexperienced, then all the angels in heaven won't be able to help Sable once he gets some experience under his belt! A perfect blend of innocence and pure, unadulterated male who has found his match in Sable. May the gods help Hell, because with this pair, anything is possible.

Highly recommended for all fans of Paranormal Romance and Felicity Heaton.

The last place I ever wanted to be was in the middle of someone else’s war. Too bad fate doesn’t give a fuck.

When I first woke up in the land of the Gryphons, I had one goal...getting back home.

I was so focused on figuring out how to leave that I got myself exiled from the Hidden, captured by the Avowed, and managed to claim not one, but three mates. Although I had no idea about that last one until it was too late.

Oh right, and then I almost died.

I thought having my throat slit from ear to ear was going to be the worst of my problems. But my asshole mates make coming back from the brink of death look like a glide through the sky compared to dealing with them.

I’m ready to accept my fate and right the wrongs of the past. I just wish I had some idea how to keep the pricks I’m bound to from fighting long enough so we can find the help we need.

I’m supposed to awaken all that I am in order to finally free the Gryphons, but will I find the key to unlock all the answers in time?

War is breathing down our backs, and if we can’t figure out how to come together...we’re all going to die.

So I was left reeling after the last two chapters in book 2 so I was thinking all sorts going into book 3. I just loved this book I think Falon is just brilliant she just does not give a f**k. She finally stands up to the 3 meat heads she is mated too and that scene I was just laughing. She finally finds her place in the world and does it with such a filthy mouth, there’s no holding her back. She reminds me so much of a person in my life. Definitely a series I’d recommend I think I need to start the series before this one as the ending has me believing they are lin

This book is not a normal choice of mine, but I just absolutely adored the cover and it kept grabbing my attention. The story left me not quite knowing how to feel by the end of it. The writing was good and the main character was a delight of loved her strong will and the need to keep going to save not only herself but her fellow class mates from this prison of a "dance school". I did feel that the description and getting to know characters better did fall alittle short though. The main story plot had very much potential and I did feel it was somewhat rushed. I liked how it went back and tried to fill in the blanks on how the school and master came to be, but I wish they would've furthered the telling on masters younger life and what made him make the horrific decisions he made. Overall I did enjoy the book even if I did have some negative thoughts as well.

A gem of a find
After watching The Librarians, I have a love for the magical fantasy show. Revolving around the secret actions of the Librarian to collect and protect magic artifacts from the common population. Most people don't know that magic even exists.

When the Library becomes threatened, the current Librarian and his new guardian must rescue some past candidates as well as save the Library itself.

The show is a blast, the team heads out to so many awesome places and whole yes, some of the effects are bit stretched, they do an admirable job for a first season cable show.

There's many a cameo to be had in the show as, including past cast mates from Leverage, the show main star Christian Kane was on. Look for cult icon Bruce Campbell in a great role.

I have binged all three seasons on Hulu and am trying to blaze thru the current season 4 now. Go watch folks!

"It's just fucking mental! I saw it in the cinema at the time and I remember getting up to leave and then the hand coming out of the grave! So great. It goes back to what I was saying about a lot of teen films being about the different kid, who stands apart from their peers. That always resonated with me. I wasn't unpopular as a teenager, I was fine. I wasn't bullied or anything, but I did stand apart from my school mates, because I didn't want to go along with the peer culture in every single sense. I didn't like people telling me what to do, I was too independent. So films about outsiders are always tops in my book. And of course poor old Carrie is a text book example of evangelistic religiosity turning sour. It's the most amazing revenge film ever. I interviewed Kurt Cobain and he said 'I'm the guy that would be most likely to kill everyone at a high school dance' and I said, 'you mean like Carrie?' He really liked that."

"I was living in Cornwall just after art college and lots of mates back home in Cardiff were really getting into kosmische stuff. One mate sent me a tape of this album. Amon Düül were a radical commune band, something which seemed a pretty out-there idea when you're living in Falmouth. I love this album, it's so varied. It's got pastoral music and very hard psych stuff on there side by side. I heard this record before hearing bands like NEU! and Cluster; it helped me get into the fact that the German bands of that post-war era had a year zero which was very appealing – by disregarding American rock & roll they created these amazing new templates. As with so many of these records, I'm drawn in by the artwork. The sleeve for Wolf City is amazing. I found out years later from Andy Votel that they created the sleeve by taking a photograph of an image created by several slide projectors overlapping onto a wall. You'd spend ages trying to get that right in Photoshop."

Choices
My brother chose to die to save me, and I chose to let him go.
My world has been thrown upside down, and the only path that’s clear is me killing O’Donnell.
My twin was my sanity, the saving thread keeping me from going off the deep end, but now he’s gone.
They say I was meant to save the world, but now all I want to do is see it burn down to the ground with O’Donnell suffocating within the ashes.
Can my mates pull me back or will I destroy them along with myself?
At first I wanted Revenge, which quickly turned to Vengeance, now I want Justice and I don’t care how I get it.

This was better than Vengeance I really enjoyed it. I didn’t see the link between this series and the Crown of Blood and frost series I really like that link and can’t wait to see if they meet again. Oh my Rowan 🥹

maybe not one for me!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

My review for this book will be short, because, to be honest, I'm really not sure what I just read!

I'll summarise as best as I can though.

I liked that multiple people have a say. So we get to hear from all the important people.

I LOVED the sarcasm from everyone! Trouble, especially.

I did not like, and I think this was my biggest issue, that multiple names were used for the same person. I got a bit confused right at the prologue and I think that set the screen for the rest of the book.

Lots of paranormal themes: prophecies, soul mates, demons, witches and gods, and a rare one: reincarnations. I liked that.

But, like I said, the multiple names thing kinda threw for the whole book, and I'm still a little confused by it all!

Maybe not one for me, but I did finish it, so

3 stars

BURY ME is the sixth book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Her Monstrous Mates series but it is the first one I have read. Now I've read this one, I want ALL of them!!!

Everything about this book was amazing - from the world-building to the character development. I loved it all. Most especially, although the men were drool-worthy, I adored Cira. She really has been to hell and back, and her so-called guardian got off very lightly in my book! The solution to her shifting problem was brilliant and not one I've read before.

Action-packed and with a multitude of different races, characters, and Houses, this was hot and steamy in a way relevant to the story. Absolutely brilliant, HIGHLY recommended by me, and I need all of the others!
