There is a particular mood to the Between Hill and Sea world — cool water and old light, the feeling that the landscape is watching, that the mythology is not decoration but bone-deep structure beneath everything that happens.

Still Waters, Deep lives in that atmosphere. A lake with a long memory. A woman caught between two worlds. A love neither of them chose. I've been adding a few extras over on Payhip lately if you want to go a little deeper into the world. 🌊

2002 follow-up to the 1997 original, again starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, that initially starts as an inversion of the dynamic from that earlier film: here, it's Will Smith's Agent J that tis the experienced one, and Tommy Lee Jones Agent K (who had his memory wiped at end of previous film) that is the newly-on-board member.

For some reason, it also seems to miss quite a bit of the charm of that earlier movie - I'm not sure why, unless it's the somewhat-dodgy early noughties effects, but it just doesn't land as well as the original.

The 80s were a great time for movies and in particular a very violent and at some times black humoured movie from director Paul Verhoeven, yes folks, I'm talking about the original RoboCop.

It's the film that a lot of us still love today, with its story of a good cop (Peter Weller) who is murdered by criminals, in possibly one of the most gruesome cop killings in a movie in the 80s, who is then pieced back together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg, who is tormented by the memory of his death and in turn goes out for revenge.
