Umm... Star Wars is cool? I guess? (1 more)
There was a cool scene with a blind guy... I think?

It was... Good? I think?
I have "seen" this movie three times now, i think. Maybe it's just the fact that I'm bored to tears with star wars anymore, but I swear, i can barely remember anything about it. Not a good sign, i would reckon. I'm not even sure this movie is real. I would guess that instead it's just hollywood gaslighting us all into believing there was some cool new star wars movie. That sounds more plausible to me.

Still better than force awakens tho.

Clank!: A Deck-Building Adventure
Clank!: A Deck-Building Adventure
2016 | Adventure, Fantasy
I love deck-builders & this was one of the first I played. Although very unique, as far as they go, I didn't find myself enjoying it. I hated moving around the map. Fast-forward to a couple of months ago & I tried it again. After the game, one of the other guys playing whispered to me "Did you like that game?" And I immediately said no. He didn't like it either. I had forgotten my first game, as it was so long ago. But the second game refreshed my memory. I'm giving the game 4/10 as I like the artwork & design of the game. I like the unique game-play of the game. But I don't like actually playing it.

The Little Drummer Girl
The Little Drummer Girl
2018 | Thriller
When it was announced that Little Drummer Girl was going to be adapted, directed by Park Chan-Wook, starring Alexander Skarsgård, I was so completely excited. Park Chan-Wook's Stoker is one of my favorite films, and Skarsgård is always good.
I feel like there was a high bar set by The Night Manager, another Le Carre adaptation, and this fell way below it. Every few minutes, my friend and I compared them... Little Drummer Girl was just boring. I feel like they could have easily updated it, since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is still alive and well.
Skarsgård essentially played the same character as when he lost his memory as Eric in True Blood. I like Florence Pugh, but her character was just flat for me.

Blackout (Cal Leandros, #6)

Book Rating
At the beginning of this novel, Cal Leandros wakes up on a deserted beach, surrounded by the carcasses of giant spiders, with no memory of who he is, how he got there, or where the spiders have come from. In other words, the novel goes down the good old amnesia route.

While, perhaps, this would have been a good opportunity for Rob Thurman to hit the 'reset' button on the world she's created, I have to say that I found this book to be a bit of a wasted opportunity - concentrating (in my opinion) far far too much on the brotherly bond between Cal and Niko (who, initialyy, he can't even remember) and nowhere near enough on the monsters or action scenes!

David McK (3576 KP) rated Total Recall (1990) in Movies

Total Recall (1990)
Total Recall (1990)
1990 | Action, Sci-Fi
Forget the rather pointless Colin Farrell-starring 2012 remake, this is the original (and best) of the 2 movies to share the name, itself based on the Philip K Dick short story 'We Can Remember It for You Wholesale' - it bears little in common with that story, however, other than the idea of false memory implants!

Starring a pre-T2 Arnold Schwarzenegger alongside Sharon Stone and Michael Ironside, the main plot of this is actually open to interpretation: are these events actually happening, or is Arnie's character of Douglas Quaid dreaming them? Every thing that happens after he visits Rekall is left deliberately open to interpretation, even down to the film ending with a white out instead of a black out ...

Just rewatched this and was amazed by how well the special effects held up. I enjoyed going down memory lane and seeing Gary England on the TV (even if it was for like 2 seconds).
The film tells a slightly accurate if over exaggerated story about weather chasers. Some of the acting is over the top, and a few of the scenes are incredulous (like the flying cow, but that has happened before) with the main characters evading being killed and the plot gets a bit lost as they focus more on the tornadoes and the destruction they can cause. Love it or hate to like it, it's a disaster movie through and through that highlights the power and suddenness of the twister.
