Transformers Films from Michael Bay, is it time for them to End?
Should a film based around the original 1980s toys, now become a reality?

The current film has elements similar to the 86 animated film and mentions Unicron. I like the action and Sfx but the first 2 were the best ones for me.

I was forced /paid to watch it tonight, even after I swore to never watch one of his films again.
I really find nothing but contempt watching any of them since No 2. They make me angry and upset at the Sheer lack of quality in anything but the Visual Effects. Exposition, script issue's, character portrayal all of it is just awful. Yet again also it felt like an hour overlong.

What ya gonna do…
What a surprise, a pleasant one mind, this film was. Michael Bay's first feature and collaboration with the late Don Simpson and the very much alive Jerry Bruckheimer, I've never really been interested in this franchise. But in the effort to complete the Bay cannon, Bad Boys and Bad Boys II are hot on my watch list.

This was funny, sharp and reasonably action packed, a real 90′s blockbuster. This was, by today's standards, 'Michael Bay light', or toned down, with much less action than today, but what was there, was classic, with ridiculous explosions, slow motion and magic hour all day!

Very enjoyable, with good performances all round, even from Martin Lawrence who I'm not fan of. Looking forward to Bay Boys II and have yet to find a Michael Bay film which I actively dislike.

Unexpectedly it's a Michael Bay film with heart and a plot...and it's riveting, focused and engrossing story of special Ops defending a base from overwhelming odds in Libya.
The action is hyper realistic as last minute decisions are being made which If incorrect could have resulted in more deaths than there were.
Effects are on point and as expected from Bay explosions lead the way, but this time not at the expense of the storyline.
I expect Michael Bay had to throttle back his usual enthusiasm so that this true story wasnt suffocated and he does uncharacteristically fine job.

Ryan Reynolds starring Michael Bay movie, with Ryan as a billionaire who has faked his own death and is now leading an undercover team of vigilantes - each of whom has also faked their own death - in order to take down a brutal dictator.

As it's a Michael Bay film, you know pretty much what to expect: lots of action (choreographed, admittedly, to some nice soundtrack) but with little coherence!

At least Ryan Reynolds looks like he's having fun ...

Zombie reflexes in the Hollywood blockbuster machine sputtered into a grisly half-life and pondered the question 'if movies about the Transformers toys make so much money, what other toy/game based rubbish can we railroad audiences into going to see?' And the answer that came back was 'let's do a movie based on Battleship, featuring the pop-star Rihanna'.

Utterly dimwitted action blockbuster and Michael Bay pastiche; the weird thing is that Michael Bay pastiches are marginally better than actual Michael Bay films, mainly because if your starting point is a Michael Bay film the only way is up. This is still insultingly stupid. The actors deserve some kind of credit for getting through the film with straight faces, given it includes a laboriously contrived sequence where the characters are basically playing real-life Battleships against the aliens. Somehow made even worse by the way it fawns over members of the military (subtext being that it's unpatriotic not to like this movie). The special effects are not too bad but considering this is a movie with a $210 million budget that's like saying they remembered to put film in the camera.

An interesting premise for a series, and it works reasonably well.

Good acting and writing for the most part, although a little predictable in places.

A fun watch no brains TV

Pretty much non-stop action
I'll watch Ryan Reynolds in anything, which means I've seen some truly awful movies as a result. Thankfully this is not that. It's a Michael Bay film, so it's pretty much non-stop action with giant, over-the-top stunts & chase sequences. Mindless, entertaining fun and exactly what I wanted it to be.

I'd heard (read) this described as 'the most Michael Bay film to ever Michael Bay since The Rock', and - after now having watched it - I can see where they are coming from!

This is, essentially, a 2 (and a bit) hour long chase movie, with cops chasing after a hijacked LA ambulance with 2 of the robbers on board - alongside a paramedic being held hostage and a shot cop bleeding out in the back - after a failed bank robbery.

It's all very American (and sun drenched) - the amount of collateral damage and shooting going on would never happen anywhere else in the world (yes, I know it's a movie) - with Jake Gyllenhall in particular putting in a pretty unhinged performance as one of the two robbers.

One of those 'watch and forget' style action movies.
