Truely Brilliant. And really inventive for the time.
little known fact that Michael J Fox wasn't the first one picked for this role, and the movie had to have a lot of scenes re-shot to include him later. Hard to imagine anyone else playing the role now.

I just like Michael J. Fox. Michael was perfect for the role, he was funny, he kept the story moving and his character was engaging and sympathetic. I was young when I saw the movie, and I loved the idea of time travel. I dreamed I could be in an adventure like that and go everywhere in my time machine. The special effects at the time were very impressive to me. As a kid I felt this was a real adventure and I am an adventure nut.

The Frighteners- is a excellent horror comedy directed by Peter Jackson. Micheal J. Fox is excellent in it.

The plot: Once an architect, Frank Bannister (Michael J. Fox) now passes himself off as an exorcist of evil spirits. To bolster his facade, he claims his "special" gift is the result of a car accident that killed his wife. But what he does not count on is more people dying in the small town where he lives. As he tries to piece together the supernatural mystery of these killings, he falls in love with the wife (Trini Alvarado) of one of the victims and deals with a crazy FBI agent (Jeffrey Combs).

Its a excellent underrated horror comedy. Highly recordmend.

The Directing is terrible,
Unintelligible action.
The technology of the animation is purely what keeps this at a 2. Everything else is atrocious.
If you took a bad MTV music video and made a fight sequence where you didn't know who was who, this is the movie attached to it. And then they made more of this garbage. I'm just really glad michael bay made these movies instead of destroying other great Intellectual properties.

"This is the movie, above all others, that I can watch time and time again and have the same fun as the first time. It’s the sense of wonder and heightened stakes that make this work so well. Michael J. Fox, of course, makes this work: I as a viewer can see the struggle, fun, joy, and pain Marty experiences without doing anything; [Fox] fully embraces and embodies the journey. I like movies that save the day…go figure, and this one delivers. Also, my parents didn’t let me see this in the theaters when it first came out. My older sister got to go see it with my older brother and I was forced to watch Cocoon with my parents. I had nightmares for months of the the cocoons opening and the old people crawling out of them."

After Kingsman: The Secret Service director Matthew Vaughn left X-Men: The Last Stand because of its rushed production schedule, Fox decided to bring him back to direct this reboot of the series. Things worked well overall, though the introduction of James McAvoy as Professor X did draw some criticism. Michael Fassbender’s role as young Magneto went down very well but fans still missed the original actors. The film was nicely paced but without a compelling villain, the overall script suffered.

"This one. A nostalgia that will never go away. I went back and forth between this, and BIG with Tom Hanks but I ultimately chose this film for sheer entertainment, and for how outlandish the story is, and just how much fun the whole thing is. I saw it recently again, and it just doesn’t date. Michael J Fox, who I loved already from Family Ties, was the coolest thing on two heels for me. I just wanted to be him. The DeLorean. Doc Brown. Time Travel. A bit of young love. All these things played out with such light. A true classic."

Watched yesterday at my local Cineworld still a classic 80s movie probably the first time I've seen it on the big screen and it still looks good for a movie that's 35 years old everything about the movie is great but for the real star of the movie has to be the car to turn a delorean into a time machine it just works the soundtrack fantastic watch out for a cameo from huely Lewis from the news. Overall still a good movie

A recent re-watch of Jonah Hex went something like this:

- a lot of stuff happened before that title card that it's already incoherent
- wait, Michael Fassbender is in this?
- I can't see what's happening
- ah sweet, it's the dude from Mastodon.
- wait, Will Arnett is in this?
- Megan Fox really drew the short straw on a lot of her movie projects
- is that Michael Shannon!?
- ah sweet, it's the dude from John Wick.
- wait, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in this!?
- once again, couldn't see what the fuck was happening because of the piss poor lighting, but Jonah Hex is nearly dead again, apparently.
- Ah cool, here's a mid-runtime action heavy sequence, still can't tell what's happening.
- wait....nope, it's over.

Christ, this movie is a blurry mess that's impressively hard to follow considering its short runtime. I love the Jonah Hex comics, I tend to enjoy Josh Brolin and John Malkovich, how is this such a trainwreck?

That Mastodon soundtrack is badass though.
