Hazel (2934 KP) rated The Darkest Secret in Books
Jan 12, 2018
This is a subject matter that is any parentÂ’s worst nightmare; their 3 year old child goes missing but, in The Darkest Secret, that is only the beginning of the story and when money and reputations are at stake, it becomes something even more sinister.

The Dino Bots Just Dissapear
Transformed Into A Decent Film In The Series
I actually quite enjoyed this film in the series,
They have made a decent film with a lot of humour and grand scenes. Would of liked a bit more of the dino bots they just kind of go missing after a while

Suswatibasu (1703 KP) rated Difficult Women in Books

Slightly disappointed, slightly repetitive
I was absolutely gearing up for Roxane Gay's latest book which turned out to be a mish mash of interesting short stories, intersecting racism, classism and sexism. The only issue was about 75% of the book seemed to repeat itself. It seemed to be missing a trick - there are more to women's lives than men, which was the main focus.

Beetle Rider (341 KP) rated Silverado (1985) in Movies

Good moments. But missing greatness.
This movie has a good iconic score. It’s in your face but it’s still good. Some of the acting is bad. Mel’s father is god awful. The scenery is great. Some lines are solid. There were smiles from the dialog. But also I was bored in parts. I loved seeing all these famous faces though.

Good casting (1 more)
Good music
Unfortunately I read the book before watching, so it does colour my perception. On its own the movie is good, a little ‘fluffy’ in places and a little contrived in others. The dynamics I found fascinating in the book are missing in the movie. That said, the casting is good, cgi is amazing and the music perfect,

Dean (6927 KP) rated Taken 2 (2012) in Movies

A very enjoyable sequel with plenty of action. It's missing a certain something second time round though, maybe the detective work to track his daughter down added more suspense in the first. Good to see the daughter and ex-wife have larger roles this time though. Unfortunately though I got a bad feeling there could be a 3rd, which really would stretch the franchise too far.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated Bilge Water Bones (Luanne Fogarty Mysteries, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A missing teen, a skull with a bullet hole, and a mysterious grad student make up this mystery. The plot slowed a bit in the second quarter, but picked up again for the second half. As always, the characters and writing are top notch.

Dana (24 KP) rated Daughters of the Moon, Volume 2 (Daughters of the Moon, #4-6) in Books
Mar 23, 2018
I enjoyed these three books. They are very quick reads. The only thing I had an issue with was the repetitive parts. Those who have read the previous books would know what is happening with the girls. Also, there were two missing quotation marks, but that is just something that irritates me no matter what book it is. Other than that, it was a pretty fun read.
